"Equilibrium Neglect and Political Feasibility" -- check out this fantastic new paper by @B3fuss. It provides theory, evidence, & solutions for voters' failure to anticipate equilibrium effects of policy changes.
The focal application is congestion pricing.

This will be a fun semester!
(@caseyfeigh we don't know each other, but thought you may be pleased to know your tweet was the first example in a @HarvardEcon course on incentives. Given your niece's impressive game theory skills at 3y/o, I hope to see her in class in 1½ decades)

A year ago I presented a theory paper on disappointment in school choice and someone was like "this probably plays no role in practice" and, as a true theorist, I said "I know nothing of practice" instead of just quoting a report from practice.
Excited to see this out! The title is missing a pretty crucial word (should be "strategy-proof *mechanisms*"). But honestly, with such a long title I almost can't blame anyone
