A TLDR for this: trying to make a formalized version of the originary hypothesis
This mid 20 something loves Bouvard retweets, and has been working on an idea people interested in Adam’s work or GA might find useful: github.com/baartmans2/origin… (this is mostly vibe coded, and with my startup taking most of my time, collaboration would be great).

There’s a whole contingent of mid 20 somethings on this site that is absolutely foaming at the mouth for a bouvard retweet. Center this center that, if you centered on yourself, then the real Center would find you

Some interesting things so far, maybe. Adam's "firstness" falls out on its own. If two people stop reaching at the exact same moment, nobody responded to anybody, so there’s no sign. Someone has to go first. Without it you can say “A is with B,” but not “A came before B.”

This is all vibe coding, though. So if anyone is interested in the idea and wants to take a look, please do.

sam: local inference is a terrible allocation of scarce resources “a lot of people want local inference, and somehow they assume that the problem is solved now because we have open-source models, we're going to be able to run them on our computers, and so we're not going to need all the stuff in the data centre but from a global allocation perspective, actually it's quite terrible to have everybody, like, have a bunch of the world's limited supply of DRAM sitting in their own computer and being used five percent of the time you want maximum utilisation in the cloud if you're trying to deal with this very supply-constrained environment somehow many people's intuition is the opposite of that”

I often revisit my profile and scroll through my past tweets, seeing which ones I like, don't like, are hastily made, etc. I think most of my posting on here now is half for my audience of 24, half writing little thoughts and opinions for my future self to review.

I tend to oppose efforts that aim to grant arbitrarily interpretable terms the same authority as those subject to rigorous operationalization.

I wonder what can be done to expand negligence standards to hold individuals accountable for recklessly disseminating falsehoods online. Perhaps establishing a statutory duty of factual diligence for users of digital platforms, for instance.

A greater issue is that the speed of the resulting legal proceedings is orders of magnitude slower than the rate at which falsehoods circulate and compound damages.

Along with the speed, the cost of such proceedings needs to be lowered in order to protect genuinely innocent individuals from persecution via long, drawn-out legal attacks the government.

As always, we will have to wait until a prosecution, but the evidence of fraud seems to be significant. Much of the information that led to this investigation was available well over 5 years ago, which raises even more questions. Not a good look for demagogues.
BREAKING: Fox News Digital reports that multiple sources familiar with the federal investigation identified Rep. Ilhan Omar’s name as Ilhan Nur Said Elmi, rather than Ilhan Omar. A former federal immigration judge said the name discrepancy could raise questions about government forms Omar has filed, including student loan, housing, passport and voter registration documents. The fervent opposition to data center build-out reflects a broader shortage of entrepreneurs needed to fully realize the value of this infrastructure.

The task of any political order is to create conditions in which noncompliance with directives is unimaginable. Conversely, it becomes unimaginable for the executive to issue any directive that could be disobeyed.

This is still relevant. Credentialed expertise (or even self-perceived scientific rigor) doesn’t automatically confer freedom from the usual cognitive and epistemic shortcomings, and people (including the highly trained) often overestimate how immune they are.
Most people—including highly educated people—are not trained in epistemology, probability, falsifiability, or cognitive bias.

It's a PR firm. This is hardly evidence that he's being "told what to say." Nor that this firm is responsible for the virality of the whole thing. Is it really surprising that a person with leftist sensibilities wants regulation and media tours?
Former Anthropic researcher Jacob Coxon became a media superstar after going public with his AI fears. He insisted that he wasn’t working with any third party organizations. Familiar sources told us a different story: DEY., a PR firm representing many of the most prominent AI safetyists, was booking his interviews. One source, who had direct knowledge, even said DEY. preemptively booked Nate Soares, a prominent AI safety figure, for interviews that directly overlapped with Jacob going public. Jacob working with DEY. is notable for two reasons: first, as mentioned, he previously said he wasn’t working with third parties. Second, we are in the middle of a national conversation about the future of AI that is actively determining how we regulate the most powerful technology in the world, largely thanks to the panic stirred up by Jacob — and it’s in the public’s interest to know who, exactly, is behind it.
