It might be Canadian Derby on Saturday, but this weekends racing action kicks off on Friday evening at 6:15pm in a big way! Some of the best older Quarter Horses on the grounds will be heading to the gate for the $40,000 AQHA Racing Challenge Championship. This 440 yard dash features last years winner, O SEEYALATER, who is currently on a two race win streak since returning to Alberta. Fellow Wes Oulton trainee, O La Dee Da, who finished second behind O Seeyalater in the Alberta Stallion Stake Maturity last out, will be looking for redemption against the stablemate in here as well. The always dangerous duo of William Leech trainees, FIRED and FLIGHT CLUB will also be making an appearance, with Fired also on a two-race win streak. MISS FANCY NANCY looks for her first win of the year after winning four stakes in 2025 against a similar group for Misael Moreno. Last years Canada Cup Derby winner FIRST FAMOUS PRIZE will also be looking for her first win of the season for Bucky Stockwell. We have eight races on Friday before we head into Canadian Derby day on Saturday. For more information, free past performances and more, visit cnty.com/centurymile/racing/…

The field is set for the 97th Running of the Canadian Derby (G3)! The Derby will run as Race 11 on our 12 race card, which features a loaded $50,000 Guaranteed Late Pick-4 and a $25,000 Guaranteed Late Pick-5.
