A dog that died 5 years ago just got her voting rights restored in Virginia.
Biscuit, a beagle-hound mix from Goochland County, received an official certificate under Gov. Abigail Spanberger’s mass rights-restoration process—complete with the governor’s signature claiming her “criminal case” was reviewed.
Her owner says she was never a convicted felon. She was a family pet.
Republican Del. Tom Garrett is demanding an investigation into how a deceased dog cleared the state’s vetting process—just days before Virginians vote on a constitutional amendment to automatically restore voting rights to felons.
This is the same process that has already sent restoration letters to other dead people.
How many more are out there?
