Besides wanting to keep the championship squad, a move like this is extremely difficult for financial reasons. NY would only have Brunson, KAT, Giannis, OG, Deuce, and Dadiet under contract (and Alvarado PO) with little wiggle room to stay under the second apron
I hate that I’m even asking this, as I am not in favor of messing with the NBA Championship squad, but I feel like I’m not doing my due diligence if I don’t ask.
Would you consider the trade below to be an improvement on the Knicks or detrimental? Would you do it?
It is the only way to get Giannis while keeping the BIG 3 for a new BIG 4, but is does break up the nova Knicks…

I would have loved to have seen the Knicks go to someone other than Jalen Brunson on that final play. Hawks unsurprisingly did everything to deny him the ball and doubled on the drive. OG + McBride on fire...Mike Brown really couldn't draw up something creative for them?
