This also is evidence of their election interference by specifically raising the taxes on only two cities to pass them off on sitting mayors so their friends could win elections
We’ve heard what matters to Albertans. Keeping taxes low and making life more affordable. That's why we've reduced the education portion of your property tax bill and frozen the rate for three years. Every municipality in Alberta will now pay the same fair, consistent rate. That certainty matters. It helps families plan their household budgets and gives municipalities the confidence to plan theirs. A special thank you to Mayor Jeromy Farkas @JeromyYYC for his advocacy and willingness to work with us to get this right.

Gaza changed the world, and there’s no going back. Now we all have to make a choice. Artists have to make a choice: to pacify or radicalize? To make soundtrack for the collapse or for the revolution? Incredible to speak at Macklemore’s Paris show. Free Palestine and free us all!

Strong public education isn’t optional — it’s essential. As the partner of a teacher who has spent decades in Alberta’s public system, I’ve watched what happens when classrooms are properly funded and staffed: kids from every background get a fair shot. I’ve also watched what happens when they aren’t. Over the past several years, Alberta’s public schools have faced rapid enrolment growth, chronic under-resourcing relative to other provinces, and incomplete recovery of educational assistants and support staff after the COVID-era cuts. Instead of fully addressing those pressures—building enough schools, restoring support staffing to pre-pandemic levels, and giving teachers the resources they need—the current government has expanded partial public funding for independent schools (including religious ones) and, for the first time, begun directing capital dollars toward them. Independent schools that receive the 70% operating grant must be non-profits and follow certain rules. But many also charge substantial tuition, can select their students, and are not required to publish their full audited financial statements the way public boards are. Some of the higher-end ones spend two or three times what nearby public schools spend per student—while still receiving public money. The result is a system in which public dollars help create options that are not equally available to every child. In 2025 the government used the notwithstanding clause to end a province-wide teachers’ strike and impose a contract after teachers had already rejected it. One year later, the Alberta Teachers’ Association continues to report overcrowded classrooms and insufficient supports. Meanwhile, total funding directed to independent schools has risen with enrolment, and a new capital program is sending public construction dollars to private and religious schools while many public schools still struggle with capacity. This isn’t about opposing choice. It’s about priorities. If public schools were adequately funded, staffed, and built to meet population growth, far fewer families would feel forced to look elsewhere. No child in Alberta or Canada should be sorted by their parents’ ability to pay tuition. Public education is the one system required to take every student. It should be the one we protect and invest in first. Strong public education isn’t optional. It’s essential. Protect and invest in it for every Albertan and Canadian. #SavePublicEducation #FightForAllAlbertans

Correct. If you allow them to do this to any population, they will eventually do it to every population. Israel is indeed the enemy of the world right now.
Bu kaza değil, adrese teslim bir sabotaj. İsrailin ispanyayı tehdit ettikten sonra bu kazanın yaşanması İsrail'in tüm insanlığın düşmanı olduğunu gösteriyor.

As someone who loves Uppsala University (I was even selected as alumni of the year in 2016), I am so proud of its students for confronting former German foreign minister Annalena Baerbock for her undeniable complicity in Israel’s genocide in Gaza. It is a disgrace that she was asked to deliver the Dag Hammarskjöld Lecture in the first place. Hammarskjöld must be rolling in his grave. But it is a sign of how far Sweden - and its institutions - have veered off its old path of supporting international law, peace and multilateralism. And as it has abandoned the very values that earned Sweden the soft power it still partially enjoys today, Sweden has become an increasingly irrelevant player on the international stage. For instance, it's been almost two months since the Swedish elections, and the country still doesn't have a new government in place. Yet, no one on the international stage seems to have taken note, let alone cared about Sweden's political chaos. Sweden used to be a moral superpower that punched way above its weight. Now, no one even notices it. These students in Uppsala, however, give me hope for Sweden. PS. Baerbock defended and legitimized Israeli attacks on civilian infrastructure in Gaza, and she ensured that Germany’s military support for Israel's genocide continued.

This is factual and worth knowing and coming to terms with if we are going to understand the rise of far-right sentiment. We are in an asymmetrical propaganda assault on democracy. The Islamophobia, anti immigrant craze is part of a concerted campaign to divide democratic nations. Be aware.

It was a real privilege attending Macklemore’s concert last night. A few observations: 1. The arena fits 12500 people. All proceedings would go to help three Palestinian people. IT SOLD OUT IN 10 MINUTES. 2. Listen to Macklemore’s message in the clip below. It could not have been more inclusive, pro peace, and pro love. THIS IS THE PERSON THAT THE PRO-ISRAEL CROWD HAS TRIED TO CANCEL - AND WHO ED SHEERAN BETRAYED. 3. Looking at the crowd, the stadium was packed with Brits of all backgrounds and races who were all there for the music AND for the cause of Palestine. Their dedication was impressive. I suspect most of them were unaware of the situation just 4 years ago. But the genocide has been a FORMATIVE experience for them, particularly for the young. The Palestinian cause will remain with them for the REST OF THEIR LIVES, I suspect, just as the anti-apartheid fight has for those who combated apartheid South Africa in the 70s and 80s. 4. Israel is well aware what it has done to the Palestinians, but it appears oblivious to what it has done to itself. An entire generation of young people, including in the West, will likely never side with Israel again.

As a founding member of the UCP. A 12 person interim board I’m actually sad. Hey Jeffery Rath has made my head hurt at times. But he’s one vote. This is not how you bring a spilt group of conservatives together. It’s not a sin to want more for Alberta. Having a different idea of how to achieve that does not make you an enemy. It’s actually so simple Vote! But hey I cancelled my membership and it will stay that way till leadership changes. AND I don’t just mean Danielle. Till kicking people out, firing them and NDAs stop being the solution to a hot mess. Conservatives are their own worst enemy. I’m politically homeless after giving 10 years of my life. Trying to make a difference. @ABDanielleSmith you are on the wrong path. Stop listening to who ever is in your ear today. This is not the right way to handle this. Albertas future, my grandkids Alberta is in your hands. Some of us care about Alberta, honestly and integrity more than politics. I guess that’s why we are politically homeless. It doesn’t have to be that way. The ball is yours play the game your way. 🤷🏻‍♀️
