I keep politics off my page but my god, it’s so sad to see how many people have ZERO identity outside of their “political beliefs.” Which, I am sure more than 80% of them have no idea as to what policies their “guy/woman” actually supports. They’re just brainwashed parrots, squawking whatever headlines they liked/disliked on social media. That's the core problem with letting politics run your life: it asks for everything and gives back almost nothing. You hand over your attention, your mood, your blood pressure, and sometimes your friendships. In return, you get a fresh outrage every morning, delivered with the reliability of someone that refuses to change the battery of their chirping smoke detector. The outrage machine is a BUSINESS, not a civic duty. Cable news and social media don't make money when you're informed. They make money when you're upset, because upset people keep watching and scrolling. Every "BREAKING" banner is engineered to make you feel that this, finally, is the moment everything hinges on. Then tomorrow there's another one. If everything is a five-alarm fire, eventually you're just a person who lives in a fire station and never sleeps. It eats the relationships that actually matter. People have stopped talking to siblings, skipped Thanksgiving, and unfriended people they shared a dorm room with, all over politicians who wouldn't recognize them in a grocery store. Your uncle with the wrong opinions is still the guy who helped you move a couch up three flights of stairs. The politician has never moved a single couch for you. The machinery moves slowly no matter how hard you refresh. Election after election, the faces change, the slogans get updated, and the big promises quietly shrink into "we'll form a committee." The system is built to be slow and to resist sudden change. Your 2 a.m. doomscroll does not speed it up. You can check the polls forty times a day and the result will arrive at exactly the same speed as if you'd gone fishing. Meanwhile, the things you can change are sitting right there. Your health, your work, your marriage, your kids, your neighbors, your skills. These respond to effort almost immediately. An hour spent being furious about Washington changes nothing. An hour spent with your kid, at the gym, or helping a neighbor changes something real by dinnertime. None of this means checking out completely. Vote, know the basics, care about your community. But there's a difference between being an informed citizen and being a full-time unpaid employee of the outrage industry. One is responsible. The other comes with heartburn. So close the app. Call your weird uncle. The country will still be there tomorrow, arguing with itself, exactly as it has for 250 years.

Upper B in the books. My surgical shoulder had a weird shot of pain on the last rep of these pulldowns. Which of course, I immediately jumped to the conclusion that one of the 6 implants popped out of the bone and I’m going to need another surgery. Ruined rest of my workout 😩

Ya’ll want a good laugh? At my first role within managed care (2017), I used this for my Zoom and outlook profile image. After a month, I was told to change it because: “it’s too sultry for a workplace headshot.”

My son’s team won 10-0 on the road today. He had 3 goals (first ever hat trick) and 2 assists! As the head coach, I am so proud of how ALL of the kids are playing! Over our last 3 games, we’re 3-0, outscoring opponents 17-0. (Yes, 3 game shutout streak too)

Signing in to Call of Duty & seeing EIGHT successful report confirmations is a beautiful thing. The fact people have become so desperate in a video game, shows how far we’ve devolved as a society. Imagine thinking “if I cheat in this game, I’ll become the next big Twitch or YouTube star!” Not on my watch, I’ll spend 5 minutes just spam reporting you. I’m that petty.

To this day, I can’t believe “Wait (The Whisper Song)” did not win a Grammy for outstanding lyrical writing.

One of the most infuriating things I see from other parents: Using *the kids* as an excuse to justify their poor financial decisions. Prime example below: “Oh we’re going to Disney, again. Yeah we just put it on our credit card and will eventually pay it all back.” No. This is why you’re eternally broke. You’re paying 20%+ interest on a trip that’s easily running 10k+ for a family of 4. If you can’t pay the bill in full, you can’t afford it. It’s really that simple.
