You could definitely write a good story from the first person perspective of a man who has lived for 10^50 years experiencing the heat death of the universe... Glenmont metro is kinda like that and I love it...
But a short stay in hell is also kinda like that and it sucks...
tbf part of the reason a short stay sucks is it's really not about that. Glenmont spends half the book just talking about how unpleasant it is to be alive for a billion years while a short stay is a medicore story set in a somewhat interesting setting followed by 2 lines about-
