#HurricanePrep tips: Make sure you and your loved ones know the difference between a watch and warning. Update your emergency supply kit and know where you'll go to shelter from a storm. Find more tips from @Readygov at ready.gov/hurricanes.
A hurricane watch is issued when hurricane force winds are possible within 48 hours. Prepare your home by boarding up windows and moving loose items indoors. Have an emergency supply kit ready. A hurricane warning is issued when hurricane force winds are expected within 36 hours. Be ready to seek shelter in a sturdy structure or evacuate if ordered.
