I also had this phase and I’m suddenly glad to realize I wasn’t the only one who had this experience lol

Because this is the only blanket with her mama!

Agreed, but IIRC you'd still have menopause-like symptoms as a result (like hot flashes) even if it's not actual menopause

Larry: I just don't understand why Marian is so worried about the consequences of us spending the night together :( Gladys, recovering from a traumatic birth + hysterectomy + menopause symptoms at age 21: big brother i'm afraid i need to beat you to death #thegildedage

The book Defending Jacob plays with this. The narrator's teen son is accused of murder, & his dad is positive that he didn't do it. Without spoiling everything, the dad never wavers in his conviction + the courts land on another culprit, but it's heavily implied they're all wrong

I kind of love how she's still exactly who she always was, but in a way that's less villainous than she started as. "Yes, I'm a conniving striver -- but I'm *your* conniving striver now, Mama-In-Law :D"

Maucoq or Maucox, which admittedly sounds a little filthy

Honestly, considering his main experience was with a hot older woman, he might not even know that much

Good catch, that would’ve chafed to all hell

So, uh, does Larry Russell know anything about birth control, or #TheGildedAge #TheGildedAgeHBo

Peggy: I'm so delighted -- my book is being published, I might be going on a lecture tour, and I'm engaged. I'm so happy to share this news with you all. :) Marian: PEGGY HELP I AM EXPERIENCING POST NUT CLARITY #TheGildedAge #TheGildedAgeHBo

The Gilded Age: we understand that AO3 is shut down so we would like to offer you a Oops The Main Couple is Forced to Go to a Hotel Together plot for you all in these trying times #TheGildedAge

Me watching Marian spinning around with Larry with her arms in the air, remembering her feelings and falling in love with him again: ok but women were not shaving their armpits back in the 1880s #TheGildedAge #TheGildedAgeHBo
