Algorand says the real quantum deadline comes before 2029 Algorand CPO Will Beaumont (@wj_beaumont) argues that delaying the upgrade to quantum-safe cryptography piles up security debt. Some estimates say quantum computers could break today’s encryption by 2029, though he calls that the most pessimistic view. Most institutions will need years to complete the upgrade. @Algorand (algorand:native) has signed its State Proofs with quantum-resistant Falcon signatures since 2022 and ran its first Falcon-signed mainnet transaction in November 2025. Next on their roadmap are hybrid accounts that pair classic and quantum-safe keys.

🧩 The Algorand Foundation team page has been updated. Here are the executives still listed. As you may have noticed, quite a few people have either left or been let go over the past 2 weeks since William took over as CEO. I know some of you aren't gonna be happy to see Harpal still there as CFO, and rightfully so. Some pretty bad financial decisions have been made over the last few years. Makes me wonder why he's still there. Is it because you can't fire a CFO without having someone ready to replace him, unlike some of the other positions? Or maybe he's actually good at his job, and the previous CEO, Staci, was the one making all the decisions? Guess we'll never really know. Anyway, they've removed most of the names from the page. Only two sections remain: -Executive Team -Engineering & Cryptography algorand.co/algorand-foundat…
