Adult actress Dakota Skye was 27 when she was found dead in a stranger’s trailer on Skid Row in Los Angeles. She had asked him if she could sleep on his couch.

She was born Lauren Kaye Scott in 1994. She started adult performing at 18 and signed with major studios within her first year. She was blonde and petite, and became a popular young performer in the industry between 2013 and 2018.
By her mid-twenties the work had stopped.
She spoke openly on social media about bipolar disorder, bulimia, and addiction. Her tweets in the final years asked fans for help. By 2021 she was living unstably. The coroner listed her as homeless. Rolling Stone later reported she had been staying with a boyfriend in Woodland Hills and was turned away the night she died.
On June 8, 2021, she approached a man in an RV on Skid Row and asked if she could sleep on his couch. He let her in. When he woke up the next morning, she was not breathing.
Paramedics pronounced her dead at the scene. She was 27, five feet tall, and weighed 105 pounds.
The autopsy found fentanyl, methamphetamine, cocaine, MDMA, and benzodiazepines in her blood. The medical examiner ruled her death an accidental overdose.
The young performer who had been a familiar face to millions a few years before died on the floor of a stranger’s trailer in the homeless district of Los Angeles.
Would you blame the industry that cast her for 300 films, or the family and mental-health history that predated every scene?
