Trump’s ICE had to admit in Judge Michael Davis’s court that it jailed a Minnesota dad over a letter mailed to the wrong state. Then it asked to keep him anyway.
Davis’s reply was brutal: dworkinsubstack.com/p/trumps…

Oh, hold up. Did you know the origin of the word *spinster* refers to a female who was so skilled at weaving that she was able to achieve financial independence all on her own??
I feel like this changes the entire plot. 😳

Judge Mustafa Kasubhai held ICE's arrest reports up against its officer's sworn testimony. Then he wrote that ICE, "through their own conduct, have lost trust." What it has to hand over now: dworkinsubstack.com/p/trumps…

I'm increasingly convinced that the willingness to change your mind is the ultimate sign of intelligence. The most impressive people I know change their minds often in response to new information. It's like a software update. The goal isn't to be right. It's to find the truth.

Stephen Miller: This whole period that happened after World War II where the West began apologizing and groveling and begging—
Host: I don't even know what you're talking about right now. I asked you if there would be an election in Venezuela.
Stephen Miller is the architect of Trump’s rogue immigration policy. Appointing him Chief of Staff is an act of vengeance against the millions of Latinos who came out to call for abolishing ICE.
No matter what position Miller holds, House Democrats will hold him accountable.

A good time to remember that "false accusations" do not have a uniform definition to be counted among statistics. They can be cops deciding they don't want to pursue the case. Like because you were distressed while reporting a rape to a hostile force.

Calley Means, who recently resigned as a senior Trump White House adviser, tells Joe Rogan:
“Susie's daughter went to a lobbying firm and it was an open discussion in the White House. If a company hired Susie's daughter, then that was getting a high priority.”
“The group Susie's daughter worked for had almost zero in revenue before the Trump administration, shot up to 30ish million dollars a year in revenue.”
“So if you're a special interest and you want to get something done, the secret's out. You pay Susie's daughter.”

#BREAKING: @SenRandPaul : "Think about it, an agency [DHS] commanding over $110 BILLION annually, CAN'T account for its own activities. This is not just bureaucratic incompetence, it's emblematic of a deeper issue. An agency unsure of its own boundaries and commitments."😳

I had remembered the “creepy Talarico gave his cell number so students could text him” stuff, but missed the attack on him for… running a field trip. As a teacher.
Recall how Talarico had a big smile when Obama campaigned for him, and Rs insisted he looked like a creepy demon. Talarico Derangement Syndrome. Turned out most Texans thought he was a nice young man.
I guess it’s a sign of the times that Republicans kept accusing James Talarico of being a pedophile (even an official statement from the RNC!) and everyone shrugged. Turns out making up nasty lies about your opponent doesn’t win elections. joshbarro.com/p/a-lesson-for…

I spent two years working with Stephen Miller.
His appointment as White House chief of staff is among the most dangerous personnel decisions in the history of our republic.
I say that without reservation.
He’s a weather vane, but he’s not wrong
Replying to @TuckerCarlson
@TuckerCarlson: How badly did it go for Republicans last night in Alabama? A transgendered Democrat beat a Republican incumbent in the state house, so the state of Alabama which has got to be pound for pound, the most conservative state out of 50, just elected a transgender Democrat ousting a Republican. All this was a response to the first two years of the @realDonaldTrump administration. This was a reaction to what the country’s been going through for the last two years. You can’t say that the Republicans had it stolen, because they didn’t, they got EXACTLY what they DESERVED, and what they deserved, was to be HUMILIATED because of what they did to the rest of us 😳

Governor-elect Amy Acton (D-OH) says she has “no intention of speaking” to her Republican opponent, Vivek Ramaswamy, after his campaign ran a controversial ad that featured her estranged mother: “Leaders’ words matter and we need to hold folks accountable.”
First on CBS Mornings, Governor-elect Acton also shares about her mission to bring “public service, unity and decency” to her state and her position on AI data centers: “We’re open for business, but we’re not for sale and we’re not to be exploited.”
