What a f*cking night at The Lexington in London as The Band of Holy Joy, Meatraffle and Sleaze played a fundraiser for Resonance FM.
The mere name TBOHJ would no doubt sound far too f*niany for many who surreptitiously watch this channel - which is a pity as they're missing out on a band who sound as fresh and relevant today as they did when starting out 40 years ago.
Meatraffle need no introduction. As an added bonus, singer Warren is a massive Celtic fan.
Tonight was the first time I had come across Sleaze. They put on a blistering performance despite frontman Dave Ashby resembling what would happen if you spliced the DNA of Bryan Ferry and Paul "Love and Pride" King together.
Last but not least, if you've not already done so, please tune into Resonance FM. It's a welcome change from the sh*t that Radio 1 and Clyde etc produce. There's only so much you can take of Callum Beattie, Nathan Evans et al, whose bland outpourings make you want to reach for the off switch immediately.
Last chance to get tickets for tonight’s fundraiser for Resonance FM at The Lexington where we’ll be headlining a lineup including Sleaze and Meatraffle.
