Dear Settlers, 1. Read the #RCAP report. 2. Then read the #TRC reports. 3. Then the #MMIWG report. In that order. (links below)

Never forget Weston and other big grocery chains are posting record profits. Profits. Not just income. If they weren't busy padding their pockets ppl might not need to be skipping meals.

It’s one big Epstein Pedo Mafia Family up here in Canada! No Russians allowed. Only our beloved Ukrainian Nazis!
I agree with this decision completely. The people of Ukraine have suffered immeasurably from Vladimir Putin’s illegal war. Alberta is now home to 70k Ukrainian evacuees who remain unable to return home because of Russia’s invasion of their country. We in Alberta stand with them.

There is no doubt there were historic achievements last night. But don’t forget, it was Democrats that did this. Elections don’t mean anything unless policies change, they’re just a start.

Mark Carney just spent $1.6 billion of public money on the AI company Cohere, calling it a landmark moment for Canadian AI. But as Marcus Werner explains, this deal looks less like a bet on Canadian AI and more like taxpayers footing the bill for a private data centre buildout

You've avoided nearly all of my questions, Norah, because you're literally incapable of answering them. Your mind is firmly closed to any evidence or facts that undermine your preferred narrative. You consider it immoral for anyone to even question you, even though you voluntarily and confidently entered this discussion. You're like a flat-earther. Nothing I or anyone else says to you will permeate your stubborn quasi-religious beliefs, because to change your mind would take away a core part of your self image, which is as somebody who is kinder and better and more righteous than the nasty people still advocating for the safety of women and girls. You repeat your thought-terminating clichés and unevidenced assertions, which I assume sound clever inside your echo chamber, but which, outside it, make you appear not only dim, but a total moral vacuum. Increased risk to females? Who cares. Women threatened by violence? Of course those poor trans-identified men lash out when they meet resistance! What is a gender identity? You can't really say, but like the flat-earther, you're sure it exists, because your tribe is held together by belief in it, and pride themselves on their blind faith in it. I keep waiting for a single gender ideologue or trans activist to truly engage with the facts, but all of you sheer away from them like horses from fireworks. It truly is like talking to cult members who're incapable of engaging in rational debate and just keep chanting the mantras, consigning all serious questions to the 'evil' bin. I've been told I'm on the wrong side of history thousands of times. By debating people like you, I've come to realise that your ilk's idea of the 'right side of history' means stripping women and girls' of their rights, excusing male violence against women, siding with those issuing death and rape threats and attempting to suppress critical thought and freedom of speech. Maybe, like the flat-earthers, you genuinely think history will vindicate you. I believe people will look back on this period and analyse your arguments, not because they admire them, but because they're trying to fathom how so many supposedly intelligent people fell, hook, line and sinker for a bunch of vacuous, post-modern, pseudo-intellectual cobblers, while being completely indifferent to the real world harm they were enabling.

A new @CBC Ombud review of an article by @cbcchrisbrown dissuades political analysts from critiques that might be perceived as "singling out Israel for blame." This sets a chilling precedent that severely restricts fair and fact-based commentary on Israel. Read our letter of concern:

Google announcing that schools banning AI will also lose access to Google Search is a pretty good opportunity to teach the next generation that Google isn’t the internet and that there are plenty of alternatives to its platforms. Maybe it’s time schools started exploring them.

Now that the midterms craze is coming to an end, it's important to remind everyone that the U.S. IS CURRENTLY IMPOSING A FUEL BLOCKADE VS CUBA THAT IS LITERALLY KILLING CHILDREN. Thank you for the attention to this matter. #CubaNoEsUnaAmenaza

If you pricks stopped interfering in every country, maybe we wouldn’t give a shit about your tin pot democracy.
Legitimate question: if you don't live in the U.S, why do you give a fuck about the politics here?

It’s incredibly frustrating to be in the US during elections, when people act like voting is a revolution. Trump is but a symptom. His wars, his legislation are all backed by the apparatus of empire that he serves. You didn’t defeat him. You simply played into the anger that he inevitably as a face of empire, represented. They want democrats in charge next to give an illusion of change. The empire is still standing, expanding and waging war. Bombs are still dropping. Trump is still a billionaire. Many still don’t get this. And you won’t get it until you witness what others witness every day, on your end.

NEW: Stephen Harper lauds genocidal war criminal Benjamin Netanyahu as “probably the smartest, best-read, most-articulate foreign leader I have met” in his newly published memoir. He also admits that he never really opposed Israel’s illegal occupation of the Golan Heights, despite that being his government’s official policy. readthemaple.com/stephen-har…

As a supporter of the Palestinian cause all my adult life, it's exhilarating watching Israel become an international, irredeemable toxic brand. It's depressing it took this much death & destruction but at least the jig is so clearly up for the babykillers 🙏

What Americans call left and right, the world calls empire. Your left bombs Libya. Your right bombs Iraq. Your left funds Israel. Your right funds Israel. Your left starves Cuba. Your right starves Cuba. And when the dust clears, you ask which party was more humane while the corpses look at you in silence.

Systemic, institutionalized misogyny is declaring women's boundaries an act of hostile aggression against male interests. Exclusion is not persecution. Exclusion protects legitimate interests in privacy, dignity, safety and autonomy. Disappointment is not victimization. Men and boys being denied access to women and girls is not a human rights violation. A boundary is not an act of violence. Disagreement about a boundary does not constitute hatred. The most insidious misogynistic propaganda recasts the physical limits of what men may demand of women and girls as acts of hostility against men who claim to be women. Women defending their rights are not aggressors and the men challenging women's rights are not victims.
