Myth: Keep #delirium patients in bed, & wait until they get better before involving physiotherapy.
Fact: Mobilisation is essential & can greatly aid recovery from delirium.

Physio input remains underutilised.
Physios are best placed to manage and triage most mild/moderate MSK issues.
Not with passive ‘therapy’ but by imparting knowledge to patients, guiding them with supported self management, and sign posting when they need onward referral.
Physiotherapy drastically reduces surgery waitlists. Trial showing surgery wait times can be reduced by 75 percent to go nationwide next year. rnz.co.nz/national/programme…

1. It’ll take forever to get started and your lab setup. Take however long you’re hoping and double it. Maybe triple it.
