Since the 80s we've had at least 12 government-backed reviews into racism, specifically anti-Blackness, and they all consistently show it is systemic and deeply embedded in our institutions. Yet, successive governments repeatedly fail to fully implement the recommended reforms.
🚨 NEW: The Government has accepted all 27 recommendations from the report to end antisemitism in schools and colleges 1. Recognise antisemitism as a distinct form of hatred, not just general racism 2. Strengthen political impartiality guidance, including limits on teachers wearing pro-Palestine badges 3. Establish a national hotline for school leaders dealing with antisemitism 4. Improve teaching about contemporary antisemitism and modern Jewish life 5. Teach pupils to recognise and challenge antisemitic conspiracy theories 6. Include antisemitism explicitly in school safeguarding policies 7. Train teachers to recognise and tackle antisemitism 8. Work with the Home Office and the Prevent programme to help schools identify when antisemitism may be linked to radicalisation 9. Encourage schools to adopt the IHRA working definition of antisemitism 10. Improve procedures for reporting antisemitic incidents, including signposting 11. Ensure antisemitic bullying and complaints are investigated and acted on consistently 12. Make clear in staff conduct policies that antisemitism is unacceptable 13. Strengthen Holocaust education, including antisemitism's role in the Holocaust, and encourage schools to mark Holocaust Memorial Day 14. Create more opportunities for pupils to engage with Jewish communities, including visits to synagogues 15. Make sure Judaism and modern Jewish life are properly represented in religious education 16. Improve media literacy so pupils can also identify online antisemitism 17. Provide better resources for teaching the Israel-Palestine conflict fairly and sensitively 18. Ensure schools have clear policies for dealing with antisemitism involving external speakers 19. Ensure education unions have clear antisemitism policies 20. Establish a dedicated support service to help schools, colleges and councils deal with antisemitism 21. Use some of the Government's security funding to help Jewish schools and colleges undertake educational visits safely 22. Run a campaign to tackle antisemitic behaviour at transport hubs near Jewish schools and colleges 23. Provide Jewish school and college leaders with mentoring and more security advice 24. Strengthen accountability for schools that fail to deal properly with antisemitism 25. Enable Ofsted and the Independent Schools Inspectorate to assess how schools tackle antisemitism 26. Make local councils identify local patterns of antisemitism and help schools respond 27. Share effective practice and guidance between schools and colleges

The host said that there are Palestine Action activists in jail. She doesn't say that four of them have been sentenced as terrorists on the basis of criminal damage convictions, damage to Israeli quadcopter drones. The others have been held on remand far beyond the legal limit.
"Terrorists are people that bomb people & blow people up, they're not people that break into missile manufacturers to stop people bombing & blowing people up" @IrvineWelsh on why he signed the letter in support of Sally Rooney & against the proscription of Palestine Action 🎯

No, there isn't. Approving Jackdaw locks in reliance on gas as a fuel source for longer (estimated operational lifetime 11 years), than if we were to taper off imported gas faster. Decarbonising projects linked to tax revenues on oil and gas slows decarbonisation substantially.
There’s actually a green case for new North Sea production: – Domestic gas is 18% less carbon-emitting than imports from the US and the Gulf states. – Higher tax revenue can be used to support green energy, EVs and heat pumps. arguably.uk/p/is-net-zero-st…

Actually disgusting to see the usual Labour propagandists making a pivot to climate change denial to support this.

It's important to understand how much money big oil has spent to make sure that generally perfectly sensible people like @georgeeaton don't understand that this is an embarrassingly silly thing to say.

Comments on this are fucking rancid. Just reams of false talking points regurgitated from fossil fuel lobby propaganda via right wing media infrastructure. Literally got people cheering on ecocide and prolonging their energy bills being set by gas prices. Turkeys.
We are in a climate emergency & yet the government just approved Jackdaw. As Green MPs, we've tabled an Early Day Motion calling on the Government to keep fossil fuels in the ground (including Rosebank) and to focus on things that would actually lower bills & create secure jobs.

Sasha Baron Cohen falsely portrayed Palestinian Christian peace activist Ayman Abu Aita as a terrorist aligned with Bin Laden in his painfully unfunny film Bruno Baron Cohen was forced to settle a $112 million defamation suit for the smear This is the Zionist minstrel show actor the ADL chief censor says “has spent years confronting hate”
My friend @SachaBaronCohen has spent years confronting hate and disinformation, and @ADL is proud of all the work we've done together. In a world where lies spread faster than facts, that work matters more than ever.   No artist should be pressured, blacklisted or silenced over their Jewish identity. And Jewish artists shouldn’t be subjected to ideological litmus tests.   Thank you, Sacha, for continuing to speak out against hate while making us laugh along the way.

Every accusation is a confession
‘Even a loaf of bread has to be politicised.’ @NicoleLampert says ‘the only reason’ protestors are targeting the opening of a new Gail’s in Brixton, is the company’s ‘Israeli-Jewish links.’

Jackdaw won't bring down energy bills. Everyone knows it - even the Energy Secretary. So why is the Prime Minister suggesting it will?

If they genuinely meant this and taught it properly based on historical fact, Israel advocacy groups would be up in arms as being biased and indoctrinating children.

Tell them about the Tantura massacre, where unarmed Palestinians were driven from their homes, executed on the beach in front of their families, and buried in a mass grave that now sits underneath the car park of a holiday resort.

Tell them about how Israeli academics and historians have been censured and punished for investigating the massacre.

Strange how things less up for debate than the most documented genocide in history never get this kind of automatic response from BBC hosts.
Someone on #PoliticsLive said 'genocide' Cue the host:

Pretty sure I've never seen a BBC host push back against a politician or right wing talking head lying about the welfare system with quotes from a sickness or disability advocacy group.

What a politically and historically illiterate position. This is a Labour Education Secretary!
Schools are not a place for "making protests and statements about geopolitical events", says the education secretary. Lucy Powell has announced strengthened guidance on political impartiality after a review revealed the scale of antisemitism in English schools.
