ESPN doing all it can to eliminate BYU with two losses even though they have a win over Notre Dame. And ESPN will also be promoting all 3 loss SEC teams even when they have no quality wins.

Jared Benko meets Jimmy Rogers after Iowa State's 51-49 upset victory over No. 24 Oklahoma State.
Today was Benko's first time in Jack Trice Stadium for a game. Safe to say it was a memorable second day as Iowa State's AD.

You can’t time this vault steal any better than Taylor Walls does. Pitchers ARE creatures of habit.

“Homers are thrown, not hit.” Love this mindset from Murph! Be ready to jump all over a mistake … But … You have to be ready to grind out At Bats run the bases, manufacture runs, and do what is necessary to win! Especially against elite pitching at the MLB level.

Good job by Kirk Herbstreit focusing on the contact and not on the win by BYU. It would suck for ESPN to actually have to give BYU or the Big 12 credit for the win.

What about that 11 pitch at bat from Bauers (Brewers) last night. As old school as they come. Grinding it out, frustrating the pitcher, lifting his pitch count significantly, and ending with a great result … that deflated the pitcher and his entire team. So much so, he gave up a bomb to the next hitter also … likely because of residue from what he just experienced the batter before…..
AND YET we still have high school hitters that can’t figure out the importance of grinding out at Bats. Their strike three “swing for the fence” looks like a 3-0 green light. Meanwhile, the winning teams are battling their tails off to get the ball in play, preferably hard, but ultimately in play to make the defense have to field and throw it under pressure. Hoping this year’s MLB playoffs (Brewers, Rays, guardians) will start a new trend that works its way all the way down to Youth Travel Ball

I asked an MLB player what he wishes he knew earlier about hitting.
“Feel-good BP is backwards. You’re wanting to feel good when it doesn’t matter and you have a false sense of 'being ready'"
"Get your routine in. Then challenge yourself in the box every single day."
"Nobody’s ever gotten a hit that counts in a cage."
"All those barrels off a 47 mph fastball stay there. What comes with you is how you trained your eyes, your decisions, and your path at game speed.”

Elite hitters walk in the box with 1 or 2 thoughts. Most hitters bring 8.
Grip, stance, hands, Dad’s tip, coach’s tip, don’t pull off. All real stuff. It just doesn’t belong in the box.
Here’s how I split it up with my hitters:
In the cage: Pick 2 things. A target and a feel.
On deck and in the box: Know the count and the outs. Time up the pitcher so you’re ready to fire. Then get a pitch you can drive.
If one of the 6 sneaks back in: Step out, breathe, say your pitch to yourself again.
