Colorado Rockies:
Trade Ryan McMahon to the Yankees for Cade Smith (#14), and Francisco Vilorio (#27)
The Rockies need to trade Ryan McMahon as he’s one of their only valuable assets. Although he’s having a down year, McMahon still has a great glove at the hot corner with great exit velocities. The Rockies get a solid pitching prospect who limits walks and hits, and an 18 year old with a great frame at 6’4 and 212 pounds who hasn’t put up the best numbers.

Rockies: Hunter Goodman
Hunter Goodman has basically been one of those players who will either smack the baseball, or swing and miss.
So far in his 301 plate appearances as a big leaguer, Goodman has a slashline of .192/.233/.409 with a .642 ops along with 14 home runs. Not ideal, but the free-swinger has some serious home run potential. In his 2022 and 2023 minor league seasons, Goodman hit over 30 home runs and 100 RBIs in both seasons.
The one concern, which is very concerning so far is his inability to walk and his excessive K%. In the 301 plate appearances, Goodman has 88 (29.2 K%) strikeouts to 13 (0.043 BB%) walks. Bottom line is that Hunter Goodman needs to work on his plate discipline to have a shot at staying a Major Leaguer. On the bright side, so far in spring training, Goodman has been playing very well, striking out and walking at the same rate at 12.5% as of March 16th, which is very good. Of course, he will not keep that pace up throughout the 2025 season, but seeing any sort of improvement is promising.
I’m hoping that in 2025 Hunter Goodman will improve his plate discipline because I would not be surprised if he smacks 25+ home runs this year while being a catcher with a good arm behind the plate.

Jamie Arnold with an easy first inning of work. Absolutely undressed the leadoff hitter and puts away the three-hole bat with a boomerang sweeper. Best stuff in the country.

One of my favorite players for this upcoming draft is Tennessee's second baseman, Christian Moore. Currently ranked at #67 on MLB Pipeline’s draft board, I believe Moore can be an “Under the radar” pick in the competitive balance round A, or the second round.
So far through 21 games this season, Christian Moore is hitting a slashline of .370 (AVG)/.463 (OBP)/.716(SLG) with an ops of 1.179. He also has slugged 7 doubles and 7 homers, while walking as many times as striking out (13). The right-hander, listed at 6’1, and 210 pounds, has potential to be one of the better middle infielders in the MLB.
Coming into his Junior year, Christian Moore changed his swing. Last year his hands were centered around his chest, versus this year where his hands are above his right shoulder. Moore has a well above average hit tool with the ability to hit the ball to any part of the field with power. An aspect to his game that spikes potential is his pitch recognition. Moore’s capability to lay off breaking and offspeed pitches just off the zone, with the ability to catch up to fastballs and sit back and wait for offspeeds or breaking balls is exceptional. One of my favorite parts of his game is also his control in the batter's box. When Moore is at the plate, it seems he controls the at bat by consistently fouling off the pitcher’s pitches, and consistently hitting the pitches in his wheelhouse with good exit velocity.
It’s just the start of a great Junior year season for Christian Moore, but with the at bats I have watched, and the results I have seen, I truly believe Christisn Moore can be a dangerous bat in MLB in the near future.
