People just want schools that work. They do not care about summits, engagement sessions, and keynote speakers. This is the result of a communications department that has too much time on their hands.

Our school is having an attendance competition between grade levels. There doesn’t seem to be a prize at the end. 🤔

Personally, I think this case is BS. They knew what they were doing and it was at their own risk. At best, it should have been a fine with no criminal case. There are people who climb bridges and buildings for different reasons and don’t drag them into jail.
Matching leather outfits and a quick court appearance for the Empire State Building climbers as their legal case moves closer to a possible plea deal. The pair are in and out of a Manhattan courtroom in just minutes, with their attorney telling the judge they've held two productive meetings and are working through the final stages of a potential agreement. Their next court date is set for November 12, and they've requested a Russian interpreter for that appearance.

Well said.
We need to start having a serious conversation about on-site mental health services in our schools. Schools are supposed to educate children, not serve as a steady pipeline of clients for private mental health providers. Mental health screenings, potential overidentification, sensitive student data collection, privacy risks, and financial incentives for providers.

We’re hearing the same concerns from parents across the country. Different districts, same problems with violence, discipline, and classroom safety. “When schools rely on ‘restorative practices’ instead of real consequences for violence, fights and threats increase and students lose the safe classrooms they deserve.” - @TinaDescovich thecentersquare.com/californ…

My son’s bus route was split into two. He has not had a regular driver nearly every day since the change. On Friday, his route was running 45 minutes behind schedule. If it weren’t for my wife, he would have been a 1/2 hr late to 1st period for a class he struggles with. I renamed their app to make a point.

I believe school start times need an adjustment but our society is built around a 3-tier bus schedule. It’s an expensive endeavor. I’d imagine it benefits school staff and reduces bus accidents (both not mentioned in the video). youtu.be/mpjCIBx6p5A?si=M1p-…

Do I believe in UFOs? The government changing its Roswell story was shady. I also distrust people who stay silent for decades, then write a book. And I certainly do not buy the Soviets stuffing dwarfs into a spaceship and crashing it. Meanwhile, the US government doesn’t release classified documents because the citizens demand it. So, am I a believer? About 25%.

Unless the Justice Department screws up the case, Omar could be f***d. I do not see an easy way out if the allegations are proven. I expect her to appeal any adverse court rulings, but maintaining her citizenship and avoiding fraud charges could be difficult. Every 17 year old knows their age and date of birth. If hers was deliberately changed to obtain citizenship, she would have known. Continuing to use that false information on official government and financial documents demonstrates she knowingly perpetuated the alleged fraud.

A teacher just caused a meltdown on the local teacher group. Teachers don’t like to be told to think beyond the NCAE ballot as they endorse the policies that are contributing to poor working conditions. I’ll have to post screen shots later.

IMO: Do not document your own dismissal. HR is not your friend and this idea is just as bad as filing a complaint against your principal.

This is what happens when a school system is run by a bunch of idiots.

Don’t tell your students anything that can be used against you. More importantly, treat every situation like it’s serious. The admins should know no one is able to know what takes place in a teen’s mind.

Choice boards do not need to be digital. I think she should buy post its and a dollar store timer. Also, education has a lot of back talking and gaslighting. I came from the north so maybe it’s just a southern thing. Not sure.

The state recently passed this law and I don’t think they realized what they were doing.

Teachers are voting for people that are making our jobs more difficult. Vote the opposite of NCAE.

It is a dickhead move by Wake County Board of Ed not to schedule a teacher workday after the quarter ends Tuesday. In nearly 18 years of teaching, this is a first. Apparently, the district would rather add holidays to virtue signal than give teachers time to do their jobs.

My wife had a student who refused to participate in class or take a test. She was told she could not give him a zero because not taking the test does not measure what he knows. Can I submit a blank tax return and avoid penalties because it does not reflect what I owe?

Reading between the lines, it appears WCPSS had enough to coach him into resigning. But, there wasn’t enough to charge him criminally. It’s probably he said vs. she said. The student probably believes the lower standard of guilt in civil courts will give her relief. Why do I think that? $25k does not seem like a lot to sue over so money is probably not the objective.
