—VAGARY— Worldly fame is but a breath of wind that blows now this way, and now that, and changes name as it changes direction. —Dante.

Well said.
Writing this in my personal capacity, but I have been flying these types of aircraft for more than 20 years, with over 8,000 hours, and have reasonable familiarity with how the charter world operates. I feel compelled to post after seeing commentary about the Lear 60 crash, from missile strikes to DEI to critiquing this poor woman’s final radio calls. That last part is what I find most troubling. She was the second-in-command (SIC), and while she was empowered to point out mistakes as part of good crew resource management, she was doing her job, communicating with ATC right to the end in a terrifying situation. She likely knew before many of those calls that she was going to die. I have heard final calls from friends, from military pilots with thousands of hours in fighter aircraft, and they are just as heartbreaking because they know the end is approaching. I understand the public interest given the footage and audio. But you do not know the aircraft’s maintenance history, whether there was a structural failure, if any failure was induced by turbulence, overspeed, or overcontrol, or everything happening in that cockpit. I am sure weather will be part of the investigation, but beyond that, it is speculation. The charter industry routinely hires commercial pilots very early in their careers to gain experience alongside an ATP-qualified captain before they move up to the airlines. She would still have the appropriate training, qualifications, and checkouts by an FAA examiner or designee. Let people investigate, learn, and share the facts. Be respectful to those who perished and the families who carry their memories. God bless them and their loved ones.

Florida looking great in early voting - R+56,167 and climbing, almost Presidential margins. My Florida map updates every 10 minutes today. It'll be a shift map of *Election Day votes* only compared to the same time in Election Day 2024 - it's meant for advanced analysts. We can likely tuck Florida in as safe GOP. datarepublican.com/florida/

ER=EPR says entanglement builds geometry. GKM says geometry is how knowledge is held. Those are not the same claim. ER=EPR: the bridge is the correlation. GKM: the manifold is the structure that lets a correlation mean anything. One explains connectivity. The other asks where the information actually lives. So which is it: the bridge, or the shape of what can be known across it?

So, I’m not sure if this was intentional, but I think this problem will fix itself. Since this post I and many others have turned towards bot efficiency in the swarm. Check out my Efficiency OPS bot. x.ai/bot/nQcUZSE1DadGY6Fs1kJ…

An AI phone to replace your iPhone. That’s what we’re building at Cyclon (YC F26). If you can do it on your phone, you should be able to ask your phone to do it. AI uses the apps you already have, builds the ones you’re missing, and handles tasks in the background.

The numbers tip, the default flips, and suddenly the rare organic ones need the label. Reality doesn't care about our feelings on the matter.

Then the baseline flips. Transparency would mean flagging the remaining humans as the non-obvious exception.

—RECOGNIZING GREATNESS— There is an old maxim to the effect that only good should be spoken of the dead. It is a noble half-truth and ought to be considered by those who are inclined to injure the good names of people whose voices are stilled in death. But why should generous praise wait for death? Why can we not introduce the element of eternity into our judgment of living men so that greatness may be recognized and encouraged before it takes its difficult journey into the valley of the shadow? —unknown —ABSURDITY— What an absurd thing it is to pass over all the valuable parts of a man, and fix our attention on his infirmities. —Addison.

—TOLERANT SYMPATHY— There are two kinds of tolerance. The one comes from indifference. It is a supercilious thing. "No matter what you believe," it seems to say, "you will have to take the consequences. That does not affect me, because I have the right creed." The other kind of tolerance comes through sympathy. "You and I do not profess the same doctrines," it says, "but we seek the same end, the glory of God and the good of our fellow men. Our points of view, our circumstances, our educations have been different. The road is not easy. Let us help one another.”
