Dr. @CraigACarter1 offers a threefold assessment of the Westminster Standards and Three Forms of Unity:
"This is what opened me up to the Westminster Standards and the Three Forms of Unity as the best statement of Christian orthodoxy in history. The reformed confessions have three great strengths, in my view. First, they presuppose and are built on the Trinitarian and Christological orthodoxy of the early church, which makes them catholic. Second, they embody the great soteriological insight of the Reformation, justification by faith alone, which makes them โevangelical" in the oldest sense of the word, that is, the sense in which it was used in seventeenth century continental contexts as meaning protestant. Third, they are pre-modern confessions rooted in pre-modern classical philosophical assumptions such as realism and therefore are not corrupted by the acids of modernity, such as nominalism, voluntarism, materialism, skepticism, and relativism, that have virtually destroyed the mainline, liberal, Protestant denominations. The reformed confessions retain a vital connection with historic orthodoxy and provide the basis for churches that wish to avoid being corrupted by philosophical naturalism, epistemological skepticism, and critical theory. To the chagrin of its critics, the Presbyterian Church of America is growing and flourishing despite being rooted in a premodern confession. We need to stop finding this somehow surprising. The sturdy orthodoxy of the Great Tradition will certainly outlive Western modernity."

Replying to @JoelWBerry
Because it's stupid at best and blasphemous at worst. Jesus really had to tell the confused angels to stand down as if they didn't know exactly what was going on? And this is the best weaponry the angels could come up with?
Since angels can look like anything, and creativity is the goal, when are Larry Boy and Bible Man gonna get the representation they deserve? They're at least tangentially associated with Christianity.
If we're being "creative" with it, why not have them all dressed up as Delta Force operators at least? Or a legion of LCpls on RipIts? Why is is tonto, wakanda, and crouching tiger hidden dragon? Why are the village people coming to save Jesus? Why did the Avenger's C-Team have to step up and arrive late to the party?

Britain ended slavery at a huge financial cost:
I know this about plasma fields several years ago. Apply that to outer space and you get something like principalities and powers.
๐จBREAKING๐จ: Scientist says the sun may be conscious, intelligent plasma clouds may transmit semantic information across outer space, and ball lightning seems to behave intelligently, mimicking biological life.
Rupert Sheldrake, a biologist known for constructing morphic field theory, which involves inherited learning across generations of species beyond genetics and epigenetics, says organized plasma might support a mind without a brain. He points to magnetic plasma filaments stretching between galaxies and describes a theory from independent researcher Robert Temple: a cloud at the L5 Lagrange point between the Earth and Moon might be intelligent enough to return radio signals seconds after transmission (explaining the โLong Delay Echoโ phenomenon in the early 20th century at the advent of the radio).
Sheldrakeโs other investigations into morphic fields, consciousness outside the body and โthe sense of being stared atโ have drawn attention from British intelligence. He has long documented the idea of โscopeasthesiaโ (the sense of being stared at) by subjects in controlled experimental conditions. He says a visitor from MI5, Britain's domestic intelligence agency, asked whether terrorists could learn to sense security cameras.
His theory of morphic resonance goes further, proposing that nature inherits patterns of behavior across time and distance. Sheldrake cites rat water-maze studies in which rats at Edinburgh and Melbourne began at the level reached by Harvard rats after generations of โtrainingโ to follow the correct route in a maze. He interprets this as possible evidence of shared memory. To illustrate how invisible fields can influence chance, he uses magnets to change the distribution of steel balls falling through a Galton board.
Sheldrake wants practical tests of these unusual abilities. He proposes a global app collecting reports of strange animal behavior before earthquakes, and is surveying firefighters who say they wake moments before unpredictable alarms. He believes he can construct a workable model for presentiment that may become practical for specific use cases.

Nearly half of everyone shipped across the Atlantic Ocean into slavery went to Brazil.
Ten times more than the United States!
Until the British forced Brazil to end the slave trade.
๐ด๓ ง๓ ข๓ ฅ๓ ฎ๓ ง๓ ฟ๐ฌ๐ง Britain sent warships into a friendly country's harbours. ๐ฅ
And burned its ships at anchor. โ

Nearly half of everyone shipped across the Atlantic went there. Ten times more than the United States. ๐
In 1826 Britain made Brazil sign a treaty. The trade would end by 1830. ๐
Brazil signed. Then ignored it. They even had a phrase for laws like that: "para inglรชs ver". For the English to see. ๐
Tens of thousands of people kept arriving every year. ๐
So Britain changed the law. Brazilian slave ships could now be tried in British courts as pirates. โ๏ธ
In 1850 the Royal Navy sailed into Brazil's ports, under the guns of the forts. They cut out the slave ships and burned them. ๐ข
Emperor Pedro II's government had a choice. War with Britain. Or end the trade. โ๏ธ
That September, Brazil banned it. Within two years the trade was dead. ๐๏ธ
Yet today only one country is asked to feel ashamed. ๐ค

Britain formerly apologised in 1840.
That was during the same period the Royal Navy had an entire squadron off Western Africa dedicated to capturing slave ships & freeing slaves.
Also, intermittently off East Africa.
Also, during the same period the Foreign Office was trying to lobby African Kingdoms to give up slavery - many often resistant, resulting in gun-boat diplomacy.
One of the good things about not getting involved in the CN debate (on either side) is I don't have to worry about whether I supported James Lindsay in the past (I didn't).
Even though Mormons are some of the most annoying people on Twitter, I've come around on BYU. I respect them as a program.
