BREAKING: POLITICAL EARTHQUAKE! Prime Minister Mark Carney announces that Canada is in talks to join a "unique alliance" with the European Union — cutting Trump off at the knees. The world is shifting beneath our feet for good... "What we are looking — and will begin discussions for — is a unique alliance between Canada and the European Union," Carney said. "We share the same values, we have the same priorities and we have very complementary strengths." He added that Canada is not looking to become a "member" of the EU, but the roadmap he's laying out could be the best of both worlds. A possible "associate member" status would deepen trade ties between Canada and a roughly $21 trillion single market. At the same time, the unique status of this new relationship would allow Canada to maintain its national identity in a meaningful way. Carney is traveling to France and the United Kingdom this week, will deliver an address to the European Parliament, and will attend the State of the European Union address by European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen in Strasbourg. According to the Globe and Mail, it was actually the EU who suggested this special associate membership, a new, specially created status, the details of which are still being ironed out. It would represent an unprecedented move by the EU, which has been rigid when it comes to admitting non-European nations. This astonishing development comes as Trump continues to escalate his trade war and deranged rhetoric against the United States' northern neighbor, shredding our closest alliance. The White House has shown that we cannot be trusted to remain a stable partner because we are only ever one bad election away from empowering a demented, criminal lunatic. Under discussion is an arrangement that would allow Canadian goods, services, and workers in crucial strategic sectors like energy, AI, and defense to move freely between their home country and the EU, essentially moving borders of the EU to encompass Canada. On top of that, Canada and the EU are discussing joint projects like laying underwater cables, the construction of data centers, cloud storage, and other key technological endeavors. As if that weren't enough, they may end up building out new systems for delivering Canadian energy straight to the EU. Carney, who through his bold, unprecedented leadership has staked a claim to being the leader of the free world, has spoken regularly with EU leaders like French President Emmanuel Macron, and the relationships are quickly deepening. This was unthinkable just a few short years ago, but thanks to Trump the world is reordering itself — and leaving America in the dust. So much for Canada becoming the 51st state. Please ❤️ and share if you wish Mark Carney was our President!

Well, there you have it. The New York Times just reported that Trump's own handpicked contractor called bullshit on the serial lying conman's claim that "vandals," "thugs," and "sick people" were the cause of the Reflecting Pool fiasco. In government documents dated August 14 and September 2, Atlantic Industrial Coatings admitted the blue liner peeled because the job itself was botched. The incompetent workers Trump hired didn't put down enough primer — the company called that "human oversight." Worse, the repair plan mixed two incompatible chemicals. The top layer got hotter than the layer underneath could take, blistered, and came apart. It wasn't knives in the dark, radical left lunatics, or a conspiracy of tourists. It was a rushed, Trump-pressured, no-bid job that failed on the contractor's own paperwork. Trump knew it and lied anyway. Then to save face, the heartless piece of shit tried to jail innocent people for a screw-up his own contractor had already admitted.

A ProPublica analysis found that the number of people dying as a result of ectopic pregnancies has nearly doubled nationwide. The increase is even steeper in states with abortion bans.

The actual term from ‘rule-breaking’ is called crime. He’s a criminal. Always and forever.
Rachel Campos-Duffy on Trump's $5k offer to voters if they vote Republican: "This just shows how creative and rule-breaking and out of the box President Trump is. I'm surprised nobody has thought of this before."

Hillary Clinton: "We have to look at our potential dangers, especially what Xi is thinking. 'They they can't defend anybody anymore because they don't have the capacity to defend. Maybe we can coerce Taiwan into just giving up because there's not going to be any support.' If you look at the world map right now, it is not favorable to the US. And in large measure, I would argue that's because of very wrongheaded decisions that are being made by this administration."

President Trump has added more to the national debt than to economic output in his first 17 months in office. The CBO projects the gap will only widen over the rest of his term.

Great inequalities of income and wealth insulate the rich from reality and breed contempt for those with less. That contempt fuels deeper inequality, creating a feedback loop that ends in pitchforks. Universal basic income and fair taxation of income + wealth can break the cycle.
