🙌🏾💖 DISNEY ANIMATION “HEXED“ appreciation post!!! Ever since Billie’s gender was changed from a boy to a girl, the hate for HEXED came almost immediately. • Many film studios have a signature style and way they build the atmosphere of their films. But while others are called creative and artistic, Disney Animation and Pixar get branded basic and unoriginal. • Because many of their sequels have a 10-year legacy, they are almost impenetrable to negative hate on social media. But it’s quite the opposite for Disney Animation and Pixar originals. They are quite vulnerable to online hate, and when they’re diverse like HEXED, they can be almost obliterated with one wrong move. • Even though the marketing for HEXED felt slow, since it’s picked up, everything we have seen so far looks incredible. The world-building looks superb. The magic looks so unique with sparks igniting the incantations, there’s a cool mystery we have to solve, and the villains might be some of the most incredible looking we’ve seen in a long time. • Never mind the fact that Disney Animation pioneered 2D and Pixar revolutionized 3D. Now that companies are misusing AI to create soulless trash projects with design styles stolen from Disney Animation and Pixar creatives, that’s also fueling the hate. • Laying all of that out, it’s quite the shit storm, especially in a time where social media fuels negativity like gasoline on a flame. Shareholders are putting Wall Street before creativity, beautiful diversity, and artistic freedom. And the lack of unions for animators. But the creative teams at these Disney verticals should not have to pay for the sins of corporate and have their art trashed across the internet. I'm super excited for HEXED and I think it has the potential to be brilliant. 🙌🏾💖 HELLUVA BOSS STOLAS appreciation post!!! I think Stolas gets a lot of unwarranted hate, and even though a lot of his problems lie with his lack of self-worth, I think he’s one of the best characters in the Hellaverse. • Because the universe revolves around Hell, naturally, the fandom wouldn’t automatically take to characters like him or Charlie the way they do Blitzø and Alastor. So from that perspective, he was always at a disadvantage. • Even though from the surface the universe is chaotic with tons of sharp edges, I think its strongest element is the love and almost overwhelming goodness that makes it so appealing to millions around the world. I would even classify this series as a horror romantic comedy, and it even borderlines family horror like The Nightmare Before Christmas and Wednesday at times. • Stolas is a character who comes from privilege, and in Hell, privilege is in the form of magic and class. One of the things that makes Stolas so strong is that even in Hell, where he has centuries of royalty and power beaming on his back telling him he is above almost every other existence, he chooses not to be, and dispels the myth that absolute power corrupts absolutely. • One of the many things he has in common with Blitzø is that he was never properly loved by his family and lost a parent, which left a hole in his heart and a yearning, searching for what he never had. For some people that looks like anger and emotional walls, but for others, it looks like self-doubt, shame, and self-loathing. • Yes, he gave the book to Blitzø because he was superficially infatuated and hated the life he was living, but he also gave the book to Blitzø because he fell in love with him since he was a child. He actually does not believe that imps shouldn’t touch magical books, and believes everyone should be able to have resources. And no, that is not a stretch—anytime he was ever faced with seeing how others lived worse than him, he was appalled by it, not because he didn’t want to be there, but because he was sad for them. • And yes, his ultimate sin in Hell was choosing a man over his daughter, which most people would be like "what the fuck," but he also saved a lot of other people and actually stood up to a rule that was archaic and hella prejudiced (pardon the pun, lol). • I actually think he’s starting to love Millie, Moxxie, and Loona as family outside of his attachment to Blitzø because it’s something he’s never had 🥺💖. Just because Stolas is loving and caring doesn’t mean he’s not messy, flawed, and at many times wrong. But he tries his best every single time, hoping he’s doing the right thing. • Do I think him and Blitzø are meant to be together? Many times I do, but other times I have no idea 🤷🏾‍♀️. Do I think Vassago is playing him? Maybe, or maybe it’s true love. But however this goes, Stolas was never given a chance to have a real life. And the one thing he loved more than anything, he’s not able to be around anymore legally. So for the first time, I think he’s experiencing life for himself. I’m going to be honest, when I first watched the new episodes of AVATAR SEVEN HAVEN, I didn’t notice Jae’s tell of scratching his ear • I think I was in so much shock and disbelief, I didn’t even remember that was his tell. But even so, I never stopped believing he was good. • I thought worst-case scenario, he thinks he’s doing the right thing and protecting the girls in some way, and best-case scenario, he has something up his sleeve that’s going to help save all of them. • But now that I remember that it is definitely his tell, I’m super excited to see how he helps everyone. I hope it’s not something that’s drawn out into next season. I hope he gets to reunite with the girls at the end of the finale. • And even though the bandit lady does have a crush on Daemin, I hope him turning her down because she was in jail wasn’t the only reason he said no. 🥺💔 For the first time ever, I felt so sad for Captain Karthik. You could see that he was a broken father who feels like he failed two of his children. When the other White Lotus sentinels said they were going to take Nisha away to train with them, he looked like he was about to completely go off. I don’t even know if he realized just how much he loved her until he had to face a world where he didn't see her and raise her every day. And it wasn’t until Jae seemingly betrayed them and said, "I can see that you were just trying to manipulate me," that Karthik realized just how much he loved him like his own son. 🙌🏾🔥 I don’t care what anyone says, Korra isn’t evil, and there are plenty of clues explaining why she’s not. My new theories on why Korra is not evil, Aang might reach out, being twins is the key, Spirits are the 5th Element. 👇🏾 KORRA IS NOT EVIL • I think when she opened up the portals at the end of TLOK, it created peace for a while, but the chaotic energy of mankind eventually caused the spirits to go volatile. • The look on Korra’s face when she jumped off the cliff to fly to the city was not someone who wanted to destroy something, but someone who was deeply sad. • A lot of mankind’s volatile, unpredictable energy started to overwhelm the spirit world, causing Vaatu to begin overtaking Raava. • Korra figured out that because the world isn’t black and white, and because Raava and Vaatu are fundamentally linked, you need more than one Avatar to fully maintain the balance without losing it again AANG / TWINS • I think she reached out to Aang and they both convinced the Avatar line that there can no longer just be one Avatar. There needs to be two to keep that balance as the human and spirit worlds continue to evolve. SPIRITS ARE THE FIFTH ELEMENT • I think by the end of the series, SPIRIT BENDING will officially be recognized as THE FIFTH ELEMENT. The twins joking about pudding being the fifth element was definitely the writers giving us a wink and foreshadowing. KURUK • I also think Avatar Kuruk, who is getting the new Wave of Chaos prequel series, will be revealed to also have strong ties of SPIRIT BENDING like Avatar Sonam.
