Surrey Street Market isn't the bustling place I visited as a child with my Nan, but as this article shows, it's been around a while, and I think it will have an increasingly important role to play in a changing food system.

A pleasure to meet Tom Heap on my home turf @stbrideschurch last week. I highly recommend his BBC podcast #RareEarth and his latest book – Land Smart – if you're after some well-researched, informative and amiably presented climate & nature stories.

I've probably read this poem 100 times, but when the world seems particularly gone to hell, it still brings me to tears.

I often see people claim that because clean energy sources like solar, wind, or nuclear are manufactured using fossil fuels their emissions are high. But thats absolutely not the case: even accounting for full lifecycle emissions they are vastly better than burning coal or gas:

The math isn't mathing.
The world spends more than three times as much on fossil fuel subsidies as it would cost to transition to clean economies for a safe climate and air.
The solutions are ready and the money is there. What’s needed now is action at scale.

Here’s one of the UK’s leading climate scientists, Dr kevin Anderson @KevinClimate warning he believes we are going to fail to stop climate change and are going to ‘live or die’ through the ‘terrible’ consequences.
Professor Kevin Anderson is Professor of Energy and Climate Change at the University of Manchester, with additional appointments at Uppsala University and the University of Bergen. Formerly Deputy Director and Director of the Tyndall Centre for Climate Change Research, he is one of the UK’s leading experts on climate mitigation, carbon budgets and energy policy, and has advised governments and the European Commission on climate change.
I understand you believe none of this is true @TomSwarbrick1 but surely you can see that it’s not logical for someone who has no training in this area to so casually dismiss those who’ce spent decades studying it, and to not even have these people on your show and to ask them to explain themselves, to challenge them, when so much is it stake i.e. our children’s futures?
