The fact that the Commission exists is good and needed - the fact that Ben Franklin, whose final act in life was to fight slavery and whose legacy represents the very best of #DCvalues is included is very sloppy and undermines the rest of it.
This July, I tasked the DCFACES Working Group with evaluating public spaces to ensure the namesake's legacy is consistent with #DCValues.
They have delivered the report, and I look forward to reviewing and advancing their recommendations.
