Sometimes things don't go perfectly and you tumble. Sometimes it doesn't matter because you simply recover and fly on.

The lead story in the new issue of Popular Mechanics is “How to Fight a Data Center.”
How sad and bizarre. Another once-great technology magazine turned against technology by leftists.

BREAKING: Goldman warns that Democratic victories at the state and local level could lead to temporary bans on new data center construction.
45% of planned US data center capacity could be affected, with Texas alone accounting for about 25% of planned capacity

China tried to rent 100,000 American AI chips through a U.S. company. The deal just collapsed.
Oracle just canceled a $7 billion deal that would have given Tencent access to advanced AI chips through data centers in Southeast Asia.
The five-year lease would have let Tencent use chips that are restricted in China. U.S. officials raised concerns with Oracle. Guangdong leaders separately pushed Tencent to use domestic Chinese chips instead. The arrangement was permitted under current rules. It was killed by pressure from both sides.
Chinese firms keep looking for workarounds.
The U.S. is starting to close them. Beijing is telling its companies to build on its own. The scramble for American chips continues. The loopholes are getting harder to use.

our team’s getting AI agents to design more and more complex assemblies while improving the back end of ntop to speed this up and the Wright J-5 rotary engine is a good start ~1600 parts that AI agents modeled in ~1.5hrs total

Starlink Mobile is building the first fully-integrated US nationwide satellite and terrestrial network that will keep people connected on their phones no matter where they are. Our 5G base stations will leverage @Qualcomm chips to accelerate deployment, starting in 2027 🛰️📱
SpaceX has selected Qualcomm #Dragonwing Cellular Infrastructure solutions to support @Starlink Mobile’s nationwide terrestrial 5G network in the U.S.
At last there will be one network with good signal everywhere!

Taiga’s screaming and ready-to-fly! With Canada’s first-ever commercial launch of our Taiga rocket and Hadfield engine technology from our Atlantic Spaceport Complex (ASX) in Newfoundland and Labrador now imminent, the nighttime wet dress rehearsal vibes at Area 66 (our propulsion test centre in Ontario) are off the charts!
NordSpace is working relentlessly to become a high-mission-cadence organization across all our platforms. Taiga is designed to build real flight cadence, heritage and experience over multiple planned launches. It will stress test Tundra’s hardware and operations at the ASX, Area 66, and RF-1, and set the foundations for critical programs such as VERTEX (Vehicle for Experimental Rocket Testing and EXploration), our Bondar orbital kick-stage, hypersonic testing, responsive launch, scaled manufacturing and quality control, and perhaps most importantly, Rocket League.
Rocket League is our in-house talent development program for young rocket engineers and the only one of its kind in Canada where engineers experience building, testing and flying liquid rockets all in one work term.
With Taiga, we have gone to great lengths over the course of the last 12 months to seek the first commercial launch licence in our nation’s history granted under the pending Canadian Space Launch Act, to push the limits of the same regulatory regime our Tundra orbital launches will operate under. Taiga is 100% made in Canada by NordSpace, and uses custom liquid rocket technology highly representative of what will allow us to, like our Terra Nova satellite, burn down risk and achieve orbital flight with Tundra not just once, but at scale.
Our first mission is called “Getting Screeched In” and will launch from from Pad 2A at SLC-02 of our Atlantic Spaceport Complex in Newfoundland and Labrador, Canada’s largest spaceport.
Codspeed and ad astra! 🚀🇨🇦

X-BAT. One year from reveal to first full-scale prototype.
Our autonomous VTOL fighter jet now moves into tests to prove vertical takeoff and landing, with the goal of giving U.S. and allied forces more places to operate without a runway.
@RocketArmor, our SVP of Aircraft Engineering, shares how our team met that timeline and what comes next, from engine runs to flight tests.

Autonomy for the world. The greatest victory requires no war.
Quantum researchers are searching for a topological superconductor – a material that, if discovered, would allow major advances in quantum computing by combining two distinct “flavors” of superconductivity.
This potent material remains elusive, but Cornell researchers have shown that uranium ditelluride can exhibit both flavors at once, making it the leading candidate.

We’re also working with engineers at Chip Ganassi Racing to turn 3D scans into editable CAD models and manufacturing drawings, and with Mazda to explore new vehicle designs through simulation.
Engineers review the outputs and help identify where the models need to improve.
