During Operation Epic Fury, Iranian regime officials and other U.S. adversaries amplified fringe narratives from both the far-left and far-right—fueling a feedback loop between domestic extremism and foreign propaganda. jiss.org.il/en/ames-u-s-poli…

Al Jazeera recently aired an episode of Ma Khafi A'zam (“What Is Hidden Is Greater”), featuring rare footage of senior Hamas commanders ahead of Oct. 7. The material provides insight into Al-Jazeera's level of access to high-ranking Hamas terrorists and its contacts 🧵

Another interviewee is Jihad Yaghmour, involved in Hamas's 1994 abduction of Israeli soldier Nachshon Wachsman. The U.S. sanctioned Yaghmour in 2023, identifying him at the time as Hamas's representative in Türkiye.

Another notable observation is that tunnel footage from the documentary shows what appears to be a Muslim Brotherhood emblem alongside Al-Qassam imagery. Despite Hamas downplaying its Brotherhood ties in its 2017 policy document, the imagery suggests continued identification.

🚨 Reports of Al-Qaeda–Houthi Cooperation in Southern Yemen 🔹 Shabwa Governor Awadh bin al-Wazir has accused members of Al-Qaeda in the Arabian Peninsula (AQAP) of cooperating with the Iran-backed Houthis, following the arrest of suspected militant cells allegedly operating on behalf of the Houthis in southern Yemen. 🔹 The governor further claimed that landmines, explosives, and other equipment recovered from the cells had been supplied by the Houthis, raising questions about potential operational and logistical cooperation between the two groups. 🔹 Authorities reportedly possess documentary, audio, and video evidence supporting these allegations, including recorded statements. 🔹 Despite their ideological rivalry, previous UN reporting has described allegations of tactical cooperation between AQAP and the Houthis. The latest disclosures could provide further insight into the extent of their operational coordination in southern Yemen, if corroborated.

Hezbollah's Illicit Financial Network in Sierra Leone & West Africa 🔹A report by the Emirati news outlet @EremNews examines Hezbollah's alleged financial networks in Sierra Leone, including the use of "blood diamonds" for money laundering and terrorist financing. 🔹The development of Lebanese diaspora communities in Africa, dating back to the second half of the 19th century, helped establish commercial networks that Erem reports were later exploited by Hezbollah and the Amal Movement to expand their influence in Sierra Leone. The civil war in Sierra Leone from 1991-2002, also contributed to Hezbollah's growing involvement in the illicit diamond trade. 🔹Lebanese Parliament Speaker and head of the Amal Movement, Nabih Berri, who was born in Sierra Leone in 1938, illustrates the longstanding commercial ties between Lebanon and West Africa. According to the report, some of these business networks later provided financial infrastructure benefiting Hezbollah. 🔹Other notable figures include Hezbollah financier Nazem Said Ahmad, who was sanctioned by OFAC in 2019. In 2023, OFAC sanctioned 52 individuals and entities linked to his international network. According to US prosecutors, entities connected to Ahmad conducted over $400 million in financial transactions between January 2020 and August 2022. 🔹Beyond drug trafficking and money laundering, the report identifies additional security risks involving the potential recruitment of locals and arms smuggling between Lebanon and countries such as Nigeria, Senegal, Somalia, and Sierra Leone. 🔹These networks face increased pressure from international sanctions, intelligence scrutiny, and military operations against Hezbollah's leadership in Lebanon. However, according to the report, they continue to provide alternative financial and arms-smuggling channels for Hezbollah, although their scale and capabilities have reportedly diminished.

Hezbollah-Linked Explosive Smuggling Along the Syrian-Lebanese Border • Lebanese authorities have intercepted multiple explosives shipments in recent weeks, raising questions about Hezbollah-linked logistics networks operating along the Syrian–Lebanese border. • An October seizure at Dahr al-Baidar involved hundreds of kilograms of explosives allegedly destined for Beirut’s southern suburbs. • According to Al-Modon, investigators identified an alleged Hezbollah intermediary known as “Hajj Sajed,” while detained couriers reportedly did not know their handlers’ real identities. • Authorities are also investigating whether checkpoint personnel facilitated the shipment. • On October 12, the Lebanese Army separately seized approximately 200 kg of explosives being smuggled from Syria into Lebanon near Qasr–Hermel. • While the incidents have not been conclusively linked, the seizures raise questions about a broader cross-border logistics ecosystem involving Hezbollah-linked intermediaries and local smuggling networks.

The Flydubai Hijacking Attempt Shows Why Threat Intelligence Must Arrive Before Takeoff Before flydubai Flight FZ1073 took off from Dubai to Tel Aviv on September 30, its co-pilot had already left a troubling trail. According to an article by LBC, years-old social media posts endorsed violence. ABC News also mentioned concerns about extremist views that had surfaced at a previous airline. These warning signals are striking in retrospect, but the details hadn’t been contextualized prior to the flight, despite the fact that his name was on a crew list shared with authorities prior to departure. Taken together, they should have prompted a closer look before he entered the cockpit. They didn’t. In the aftermath, national security leaders must ask themselves: How much relevant information is already within reach in cases like this, waiting for someone to connect it? After almost every terror incident, the same phenomenon comes to light. Pieces of information or intelligence were available beforehand, but no one connected the dots in time. Had they been connected, disaster might have been averted. The 9/11 Commission documented failures in information sharing and coordinated action. The flydubai Flight FZ1073 investigation raises the urgency of examining those same organizational challenges today. In both cases, the warning signs were there. But the dots weren’t connected before the flights left the ground. 25 years after 9/11, we have the technology to do better. Link to article in comments ⬇️

The seventh strategic mistake, and the one most structurally irreversible, was Iran’s decadeslong strategy to build its offensive and defensive architecture almost entirely around a proxy network that the U.S.-Israeli campaign has systematically dismantled. Hezbollah entered the current war already severely diminished from its 2024 confrontation with Israel, its leadership decimated and its southern Lebanon infrastructure severely damaged. The Syrian buffer that Iran spent years and billions of dollars constructing has collapsed entirely, and American and Israeli forces have degraded the Houthi operation in Yemen past the point of meaningful military utility. open.substack.com/pub/zinebr…

Hamam al-Hammami, an Omani, is the pilot suspected of attacking the captain on Wednesday’s Tel Aviv-bound #Flydubai flight. - He was born in the UAE to an Omani father and a Syrian mother. - Oman Air removed him from flight training last year over extremist views and moved him to another role; he left the airline in February 2025. - He later worked at Royal Air Maroc and had been at Flydubai for about eight months. - A LinkedIn account sources link to him posted, about nine hours after the incident, cockpit clips zooming on El Al and Arkia aircraft, ending with images of al-Qaeda figures Ayman al-Zawahiri and Humam al-Balawi. - A second post showed an AI image linking Mecca, Medina, and Jerusalem, with a poem about rejecting humiliation and not fearing death. The account was then deleted. - Deleted 2021–2022 tweets show a strict religious line: niqab, a wife who stops working, and opposition to mixed workplaces. - He completed a distance-learning aviation management degree at Buckinghamshire New University in 2023. - The UAE attorney general is investigating possible terrorist links and prior planning or direction. Israeli agencies are examining how an Omani was cleared onto a Tel Aviv crew. - Netanyahu said Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed agreed Israel could join the interrogations in Saudi Arabia, where the aircraft diverted cnn.com/2026/10/02/world/fly…
