Maicol grew up in Colombia in institutional care, and knows the damage that this kind of care can do to a young person. His experiences inspired him to found the Columbian Association of State Protection (ASCEP). This organisation provides young people who are leaving institutional care with the opportunity to build networks, receive training, and prepare for the challenges of independent living. #EVACConference #endviolenceagainstchildren

The ACERWC and the UN CRC signed a historic agreement for enhanced collaboration. A memorandum of Understanding was signed on 26 August, 2024, by the Chairpersons of the #UNCRC @askelton_CCL and the #ACERWC Wilson Adão, to develop a framework for collaboration between the two monitoring bodies on the implementation of the African Charter on the Rights and Welfare of the Child (ACRWC) and the United Nations Convention of the Rights. This MoU is a significant landmark as it intensifies cooperation between the two bodies in creating a World Fit for Children.
