Of the more than 760,000 people who came to Britain on the Health & Care visa, more than 470,000 were relatives. They will now all be allowed to stay in Britain. Forever. While claiming benefits, council housing, student loans, and more.

The EU are laughing at us.
Delighted at Andy's surrender.
Andy Burnham is currently engaged in the long, slow process of taking Britain back into the European Union
The draft went round the 27 member states today. Under the food deal he means to sign in Brussels on November 20th:
- The EU's rules on food safety and on animal and plant health become British law automatically, through a European Partnerships Bill written for the purpose.
- When Brussels changes its rules, our law changes with them, and when there's an argument over what a rule means, the EU's own court settles it.
- Britain pays "an appropriate financial contribution" towards the system, a figure nobody has yet been told
- And European boats keep their access to our waters until 2038, as agreed last year.
In return we get...very little. And what we especially do not get is any vote on any of it and no seat in the room where it's written.
Annd that's just your first course. The rest of the summit menu links our carbon market to theirs and adds a youth scheme the EU wants set at 100,000 people a year or more.
The government values the deal about Β£5bn a year, a little under 0.2% of the economy.
There's craftsmanship in their shystery. We'll have membership re-brokered in pieces small enough that the controversy they rouse will be, initially, minimal.
Burnham says his red lines on the single market, the customs union and free movement hold "for the duration of this Parliament", which is an oddly precise shelf life for a principle. He wants to "explore options" once the summit is over.
But he also says he hopes to see Britain rejoin in his lifetime. Downing Street says that on free movement he is "not leaning either way".
He is taking us back in with a member's obligations and absolutely no voice. It's an extension of the spirited of wicked, self-hating animus that drove SW1 to try to scupper Britain's original post-Brexit deals (and the result itself) as a method of what they considered appropriate vengeance on the electorate who robbed them of their status symbol.
Progress would diverge from EU rules wherever doing so makes British food and goods cheaper or better, and replace alignment with mutual recognition deals with the US, India, Japan and the Gulf that leave our law in Parliament's hands. We'd cut the cost at our own border with risk-based checks on no more than 5% of food consignments from trusted partners.

For a working family with kids and a mortgage to pay, 5% inflation and mortgage rates of 7-8% are existential. They've already cancelled the holiday, cut the takeaway, and given up on Netflix.
They cannot afford more. Lives will be ruined.
Why has the Bank of England increased interest rates and mortgage repayments?
Because Labour is sending prices through the roof β now estimated to be 5% by January. Mad policies like net zero and Labour's taxes and regulations are increasing the price of everything. The Bank raises interest rates to get on top of that incompetence.
And it's working families, not politicians who really suffer. Honestly, the old parties in Westminster just don't get it. The Tories don't even mention the Cost of Living β I guess it doesn't affect them or their friends. And Labour don't care about you unless youβre on benefits, and they're too busy with nonsense like banning smoky bacon crisps.
This madness can't go on! Any competent government that cared about people would do the obvious. Cut people's bills with common-sense policies.
Within 100 Days, Reform would:
β’β β Scrap net zero subsidies and price-raising policies
β’β β β Eliminate Labour's jobs tax for British workers
β’β β β End the mad policies that are driving up rents and the cost of doing business
β’β β β Give the average working family Β£1300 in tax breaks and lower fuel costs.
We don't need to keep getting poorer. Let's cut bills instead!

Exc: Evasion of Angela Raynerβs new βtourist taxβ will carry a maximum penalty of 14 years in prison.
The measures, set out in a bill published on Wednesday, target accommodation providers in England who evade the proposed overnight visitor levy.
The new legislation is also designed to prevent property owners offering βmatesβ ratesβ to friends that would reduce the amount of tax paid on temporary stays.
