Most people think leverage is all about taking bigger risks to get bigger returns
But what if the real problem isn't leverage itself, but how it's structured?
That's an interesting idea behind @2FactorFinance
Instead of relying on traditional leverage models, 2Factor takes a different approach by splitting BTC exposure into two sides:
🔹 Senior (BTC-Sr): Designed for a more stable exposure, with junior capital absorbing losses first. It also has the potential to earn yield
🔹 Junior (BTC-Jr): Provides amplified BTC exposure, targeting around 1.33x leverage without relying on the usual liquidation-based structure
Another interesting part is how the protocol keeps things balanced
Through its rebalancing mechanism and bidirectional funding rates, 2Factor adjusts incentives between senior and junior holders depending on market demand
And there's also the weekly rotation mechanism, which helps maintain these perpetual positions over time
What I find interesting here is the focus on long-term capital rather than just short-term speculation
Of course, moderate leverage doesn't mean zero risk. Market conditions, collateral performance and protocol mechanics still matter
The bigger question is whether this model can deliver a more sustainable approach to onchain leverage over the long run
