√GET] Radical Relevance: Sharpen Your Marketing Message - Cut Through the Noise - Win More Ideal Clients by Bill Cates
How you talk about yourself and your business will determine – to a great extent – how your clients talk about you. How you define your value and communicate your value actually teaches your clients how to talk about you to others. #valuediscussion
There are two primary reasons why people forget to ask for referrals: 1) lack of confidence, & 2) not making it part of their meeting agendas. One tool you may find helpful is to use an Introductions Journal. It will act as a constant reminder for you to ask for introductions.
Building a referral-based business begins with a commitment to meeting your clients the way they prefer to meet you, i.e., and introduction from someone they already trust. Once you make the commitment, then you focus on the strategies and tactics to make it happen.
I have taught my process for generating referrals on every continent, save Antarctica. So many financial professionals lack the confidence. In the absence of confidence is fear. Understand that you are not alone with these feelings. Conquer this fear by learning a proven process.
Make sure you have a clear and concise way to educate your #clients about whom you serve the best these days. Give them a simple way to talk about you to others.
I trust you are doing your best to bring your most authentic self to your prospects, clients, and team members. Context informs relevance. Not being genuine creates a false context and, therefore, an irrelevant message.
Neuroscience has proven that emotional memories last much longer than cognitive memories. Therefore, in addition to the logical bullet-point ways you describe your value proposition, you want to find a few ways to speak to the emotional aspects of your value.
Building trust early in a new relationship is key to converting a prospect into a client. While you may not be able to meet every expectation a prospect or client may have of you, you certainly want to know what they are so you can address them appropriately.
Is the purpose of your event to show your appreciation to your clients, or to get your clients to invite guests? The best way to get clients to attend with a guest is to call those clients personally & be completely transparent about the purpose of the event (for introductions).
Learn a few things about your #prospect from your #referralsource and/or the internet before you speak with them. Don’t start cold. They’ll appreciate you being prepared.
You have to learn enough about the other person’s logistical and emotional context before you stand a shot at earning the right to their attention and compelling them to take action.
