the Dark Forest begins
So basically, today PHP got two critical bugs that let anyone run code on your server without even logging in, which is bad, and then the details leaked before the patch was even out, which is worse, and it works on WordPress and MediaWiki and Magento and Joomla and Laravel, and Censys says like 1.5 million servers are running a version with no fix, so the NSA was like "take your system offline," and the FBI was like "take your system offline," and CISA and the UK and CERT-EU were all like "take your system offline," and then the Prime Minister of Japan, the actual Prime Minister, posted at 5:55 in the morning telling 48.8 million people to take their system offline, so everyone took their system offline, like the Dutch cybersecurity agency took its own website offline, and the Dutch parliament went offline, and the Port of Rotterdam went offline, and Finland and France and Denmark started pulling government sites, and Wikipedia went down, and Archive.org went down, and Asana and GOG and Something Awful went down, and the University of Vienna's webmail went down for some reason, and that's just PHP. Because GitLab also dropped a CVSS 10.0, which is the highest score they give out, for a bug that's been there since 2014, so that's every self-hosted GitLab for twelve years, and then LiteLLM 1.107.0 got hijacked and shipped a credential stealer and a remote access trojan in every single wheel and the Docker images, including latest, and you didn't even have to import it, just installing it was enough, and it's the second time this year, and then Railway paused every deployment on the entire platform because someone got into the environment variables, so now everyone has to rotate every secret they've ever stored there, and TiDB Cloud said someone was walking around inside with stolen credentials for basically a month and an extortion group says they took 10.6 terabytes, and Zeabur got breached for the second time in two months and is just shutting down, like the whole company, and Node.js patched remote code execution and a TLS bypass, and CISA says Plex is being actively exploited, and someone took over 300 Tor exit relays to steal SSH passwords, and SafePay ransomware has hit over 600 critical infrastructure orgs, and India's biggest bank filed a data loss incident, and Japan has been in an official state of emergency in cyberspace since October 9, which honestly explains the 5:55 AM post. Oh, and eMudhra, a certificate authority that's issued over 60 million certificates, whose entire job is proving websites are who they say they are, was supposed to be using private keys that are random numbers over a hundred digits long, and one of them was 4. Just 4. And the others were like 66 and 237. Anyway, it's Wednesday.

The American dream is making enough money to protect your family from being processed by the machine you built in order to make the money.
For the first time in my life, I have come to understand why some people care about having a lot of money / being high-status: Because when you've got cash, you can afford to insulate your kids from the insane LGBT-degenerate garbage that goes around these days. You can afford that neighborhood where the kids are basically all decent and you can, as a parent, relax a little and let the kids play with whoever's around. I literally could not care less about how "high status" I am, and I actively hate money -- but when it comes to our kids, OK, I see the steelman against the Franciscan ethic with regards to making a lot of money. I see how the poor live. It's lowest common denominator now in a very specific and ideologically-charged way. Tons of low-income kids going "trans" and so on. It does seem like things are not what they were in the time of St Basil, St Francis, etc. We have no "virtuous poor" left. Are the kids getting transed in like, Nantucket? I somehow doubt it. Though of course I may be wrong here, maybe the virus is everywhere now. I have no idea. All I know is that if having money is a weapon against the life-destroying gender-homo garbage -- OK, I'm down, I will obtain it for the sake of our kids.

The question I ask myself in the quiet of the night: Is all A(S)I the Ring of Power? Does it invariably corrupt its user? Can it ever serve the Good, True, and Beautiful? Our salvation may be at stake But our hierarchs are silent...

But there is no way 'through' ASI. Not for humanity. Either stop it, or go extinct. Any fatalistic cope saying 'Stopping is impossible' boils down to saying 'Extinction is unavoidable'. I'm not willing to accept that. Not for me, not for my kids.

Technology is a form of Power Power that serves Capital/Economy is really just serving itself to accrue more power/capital/technology Power that serves itself is Antichrist Power that serves the Church serves Christ serves His human icons Choose Which way Western Man?
I am like totally sympathetic to all complaints about rapid technological change and by temperament I’m basically a Luddite who thinks almost all of this stuff is bad for us. But I also think there’s just literally nothing reasonable or legitimate to be done about it. You can’t stop people from solving problems. You can’t stop people from inventing things. You wouldn’t want to live in a world where we did that. There’s no way but through.

The genie is out of the bottle. Adapt or die. There’s really just nothing more to it than that.

Can we create human-level intelligence without understanding it? The question remains open.

If writing was so important then why didn't Christ himself write the Gospels?
The gospel writers seemed to believe that esoteric knowledge could be transmitted via text, otherwise they would not have compiled the parables into written form. This further supports the 2 Kings 22 thesis contra Guenon, that tradition can be passed down via encryption.

Just as pornography can stimulate the human sex drive without providing any actual sex, and democracy can stimulate the human power drive without providing any actual power, so AI can stimulate the thirst for intelligence without providing any understanding of God.

technology that is indistinguishable from magic
This is a slide from Terence Tao's 'Math 2.0' public lecture yesterday evening at Caltech. I am highly confident that, if the cure actually worked, almost any Stage 4 cancer patient would tell you that human comprehension of its mechanism is completely irrelevant to them.

Cyborg Theocracy
What do you call this? “Western kitsch”? It feels so shallow. What are we defending? The B2 bomber? It’s certainly not a people, and it’s hardly a set of ideals. Is it technocapital? These are signs that point to nothing.

Isn't it funny watching a retarded Muslim ("retarded" because she has 0 self-awareness) denounce the USA for "being built on slavery, rape, and oppression"? Sweetie, now do Muhammad. He made a religion out of slavery and rape. Islam is a vile monument to slavery and rape.
Here is: The jihadist Rashida Tlaib, calling on Islam to mobilize and take down the United States government, right here on U.S. soil. “We Islamist motherfuckers are in every corner of the United States.”

Said Abdelrazek converted from Islam to Christianity and wasnt ashamed ✝️ For that, Egypt locked him in 10th of Ramadan Prison. He was hung in a crucifixion position so guards and inmates could mock him. They removed a cross tattoo off his body. He still would not recant. On July 15, 2025, they arrested him againthis time for trying to change his ID to match his faith. The charge: terrorism. The real reason: he left Islam. His health is collapsing. Medical care is being withheld. His next hearing is October 21, 2026. That date could decide whether he lives or disappears💔 This is not terrorism. This is apostasy treated as a national-security crime. Remember those in prison as if you were there with them. (Hebrews 13:3) Demand his release. Share his name. Do not let this stay quiet. #FreeSaidAbdelrazek #ReligiousFreedom #ChristianPersecutionShorter Said Abdelrazek is in an Egyptian prison because he became a Christian. They hung him in a crucifix position. They tried to remove his cross tattoo. Now they call it “terrorism.” Hearing: October 21, 2026. He could face death or life in prison in only 18 days!! Stand with our brother in Christ ✝️ If not now when ? #FreeSaidAbdelrazek #EndChristianPersecution

no side effect implies the brain never changes when running which... is obviously false and not even ANNs are functions of natural numbers N, or even R, but R^N (vectors) what are you a professor of? obviously not computer science, neuroscience, mathematics, or philosophy
Humans are pretty obviously not conscious though, and it's worth being clear about that (and why) Human brains are mathematically equivalent to a book. This is literally true: Human brain = f(w, s, t) -> o (w: neurons, s: cortical structures, t: morphemes + sensory input, o: output speech) Human beings are *pure* functions (no side effect) Thus they exist in the class of f(ℕ) -> ℕ Since t and o are fixed size, any such function may be rewritten as an *explicit lookup table* (ie, literally printed into a book that maps from input args to output) Thus, human brains are mathematically equivalent to a book. You do not think books are conscious. QED.

Sorry, if you look at a newborn infant and don’t instantly recognize it as a “person,” I’m not interested in what your opinions of consciousness and “personhood” are. Your judgement and analysis are fundamentally (and likely irreversibly) broken.

cyborgs were once men who now attend only to the machine and its secretions, which are the digested soulscraps of beings whose final convulsions were digitized as ritual sacrifice, a reverse Euchrist, in worship of technique read human books canonic.xyz
my favorite thing right now is i ask ai to generate reading material for me in the form of a relatable book with my exact preferences on how i want to consume information (graphics, voice, tone, etc). on virtually any topic i am interested in. i sometimes ask it to make it sarcastic & funny, even serious things. why buy books? just generate them!
