Ok Calgary friends, migration is definitely underway and unfortunately windows are taking a toll. If you live or work downtown (or hear buildings with a lot of windows), please keep an eye out!
🚨Multiple strike downtown! Survey team downtown is finding several strikes at multiple buildings WHILE present. We need help to check rest of downtown as we are small and can’t be everywhere.

Healthy watersheds are a cornerstone to healthy ecosystems, by not explicitly considering non human use, aquatic life and all that depends on it is at risk. Write your MLA to express your concern

While Flaco the owl was flying free in NYC, consuming meal after meal of the poisoned rats that would contribute to his death, hundreds of wild, native raptors across the city were meeting the same fate. This is beautiful Boho, an adult red-tailed hawk.🧵 📷: Emily Einhorn

Flaco's toxicology report reveals 4 different types of rodenticide + pigeon herpesvirus. He was a very sick bird, in other words, when he collided with a window and fell, or simply fell, suffering traumatic injuries at an UWS apartment building. newsroom.wcs.org/News-Releas…

This weekend is the #GreatBackyardBirdCount! Spend time in your favourite place observing & counting as many birds as you can, for at least 30min, and report your findings! This helps scientists better understand global bird populations. Details below: birdcount.org/

Alberta is home to four chickadee species. Black-capped chickadees are the most common and widespread. Long, cold winters can severely challenge the survival skills of chickadees and other resident birds. Learn more about their survival skills at: naturealberta.ca/weathering-…

Even if we weren’t in an energy grid emergency a lot of those lights could be turned off…
Calgary skyline at 730PM. Sure as hell is a lot of light coming from those office towers for a Saturday night with excess strain on the grid...#yyc
