That’s my Speaker. We lead by example, and we will work to lower costs of childcare for all Virginians. Supporting and protecting working families just got a whole lot easier after Tuesday’s elections.
New: @SpeakerDonScott says he is continuing a program that will provide members of the Virginia House of Delegates with $300 per week per child to help pay for childcare while Delegates are in Richmond during the 2026 General Assembly session.

Doulas provide culturally competent care during pregnancy & postpartum. To reduce maternal mortality in Virginia, I am proud to have worked alongside @lashrecseaird, @C_Herring & @BirthinColor in 2020 to help secure Medicaid reimbursements for doulas. There’s more to be done

Doulas like Venus understand the importance of postpartum care. In 2021, I challenged states to extend Medicaid postpartum coverage from 2 months to 12. Now, 47 states have answered the call, and more women and children are receiving the care they need.

The House P&E Committee has voted to advance both HJ2 and HJ9, which would amend the VA Constitution to automatically restore voting rights for returning citizens, and repeal the ban on same-sex marriage, respectively.
