Explainable, but most are unwilling to listen.
hashcat v8.0.0 released!

OpenAI has announced three extraordinary AI-generated research results.
1. A proof of the local smoothing conjecture in all dimensions, implying the Kakeya and restriction conjectures.
2. A Lean-formalized refutation of the Exponential Time Hypothesis.
3. Rigorous existence proofs for quantum field theories, including Yang–Mills and QCD.
Human experts are now working to independently examine and explain these potentially historic breakthroughs.
You can encode practically anything if you can consistently differentiate it from a background. I'm reminded of columns of water (sprayed into the air like fountains via pumps) can serve as antennae for radio signals; so many deceptively simple applications of physics into data.
Stanford researchers have developed thermal noise communication, a wireless transmission method that encodes data by manipulating the natural background static produced by oscillating electrons in electrical conductors, rather than generating an active radio signal. A transmitter switches between two circuit states, one absorbing and one reflecting ambient noise, which a receiver amplifies to distinguish as zeros and ones. The system uses up to 1,000 times less energy than conventional radio-frequency transmission. After deriving a mathematical channel model to understand the system’s fundamental behavior, the team improved data transfer rates by 100 times. Potential applications include medical devices and astronomy observatories where electromagnetic interference is a concern, as well as low-power environmental sensors. The research is published in PNAS.
I remember learning about Calabi-Yau manifolds when I first played Half-Life 2 & my habit of looking closely at all of a game's assets came in handy when reading the titles of all the books in physicists' rooms. Very interesting concepts that overlap with logic in topology.
In 1973, Shing-Tung Yau believed he had found a counterexample to Calabi’s celebrated conjecture. Months later, he discovered a flaw in his argument.
Rather than abandoning the problem, Yau changed his approach. After three years of rigorous work, he proved the conjecture in 1976, establishing a landmark result in differential geometry.
He received the Fields Medal in 1982, and Calabi–Yau manifolds later became fundamental to string theory.
In an August 2026 interview, Yau reflected on this remarkable journey that mathematical progress begins where our assumptions fail.
My only family, my mother, is practically dead (prognosis is a couple of weeks); I still have no real support from anyone outside of calling the typical help lines (& guess what, they just tell you to distract yourself with something you like [forgetting things like anhedonia]).
I don't think professional support is going to suddenly materialize (& yes, I have requested it [frequently & vocally]), nor will familial (my branch of the family is more or less outcast from any distant relatives), or friends (basically only my cats). I get to hit another wall.
Really begs the question on who benefited the most strategically from all these global SNAFUs. I've been saying BRICS+ for years (esp. if Brazil swings even further that way this election) now, but so few are willing to believe it until experts or declassifications say the same.
The war with Iran has depleted US missile stocks, complicating Washington’s security commitments in the Western Pacific.
Replenishment will take years, and this leaves US allies likely to face delivery shortfalls and competition for limited arms shipments this decade.

Geometry starts with lines and circles, then unfolds into perfect solids and infinite fractals.
Compass constructions yield triangles, squares, pentagons, and the five Platonic solids. Recursive rules produce the Pythagorean tree and Apollonian gasket, each step adding detail without breaking the underlying order.
In these diagrams, simple rules reveal the deep structure of form.

"All governments suffer a recurring problem: Power attracts pathological personalities. It is not that power corrupts but that it is magnetic to the corruptible."
— Frank Herbert
Sigh. This was all clear a couple of years ago when Kushner's pre-election power-brokering was going on. I guess they have a slightly more smoking gun now, but when has that actually seemed to matter in any corruption cases brought against this lot; practically own the system now
The GRU hacked into Jared Kushner's iPhone. Dutch military intelligence (MIVD) then recruited a GRU spy who gave them access to the hacked phone. What MIVD discovered was that Kushner had access to two bank accounts --one Azerbaijani, the other Israeli --where Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman and Emirati ruler Mohammed bin Zayed deposited money. It sounds like a slightly far-fetched episode of "Slow Horses," but it's real. And it proves just how eye-poppingly corrupt this administration was and continues to be as its "special envoy" decides the fate of tens of millions in Europe in the Middle East. Simply incredible reporting by Matthew Cole, drawn from his new book on Kushner. vanityfair.com/story/jared-k…
My only family member (estranged abusive mother) will likely only has a couple of weeks to live, according to her doc. I'm supposed to go in & be supportive (despite her giving all her possessions to charity & saddling me with expenses). I don't know how the hell to manage it.

With the recent announcement of SACEUR’s theory of victory, the EU should develop its own in response to Russia’s unconventional war on Europe.
It already has the means and legal instruments to coordinate a response across borders.
