The bear case on $LIT was that Robinhood picked Bitstamp over Lighter for US perps @Lighter_xyz responded by announcing it plans to file for its own CFTC derivatives license in November, aiming to be the first CFTC-approved on-chain perp DEX @citrini gave it a 10% weight in their portfolio. I was late getting into position on $LIT, but I still beat them to it. Let's unpack the bear FUD first. At @RobinhoodApp's Sept 29th summit, it said US perps would run through Bitstamp, and LIT fell 14-20% I, personally, lost several trillion imaginary dollars in the great nothing-burger panic that day. Then came Lighter's Q3 gigachad investor call on Oct 21st. The team said it plans to submit the application in November. The CFTC should respond within 180 days. When I had Lighter's Head of Growth, Trevor King @trevor_flipper on @MilkRoadDaily in September, he told me the team was "spending a lot of time with the CFTC trying to get US licensing." Founder Vladimir Novakovski says the team has been talking with regulators for about 11 months. (Translation: they've hashed things out) LIT jumped about 19% after the investor call, to $3.94 I, personally, made several trillion imaginary dollars that day of days. The license matters because of how Lighter makes money. Retail trades for ZERO fees, and Lighter earns from premium tiers sold to market makers and API traders King's pitch: "Zero fees makes us a really good dance partner because we can share economics really well." A US license lets Lighter pitch that to US brokers directly Robinhood already took the deal outside the US. Lighter runs the perps in Robinhood's wallet on a 50/50 revenue split Lighter buys $LIT with that revenue and burns it: 15.64M on Jul 10 and 2.45M on Oct 11, over 7% of circulating supply Across both instances, Lighter now carries about $1.6B of open interest and did about $2.9B of volume in the last 24 hours (from whenever I last checked before writing all this at two in the morning) The product keeps shipping too, and this, to me, is the huge thing everyone is overlooking. Lighter isn't going after just perps. They are coming for every trading market they can reach. - BTC and ETH binary options went live this week (prediction markets) - Lighter Core passed 1M accounts - King told me a full options suite is coming by the end of the year - all your trade are belong to us Alright, now a dose of reality. They still don't have the actual license yet, and King told me the CFTC gets a 180-day window to answer an application. So it could be a bit. The team and investor cliff also ends Dec 27 per Tokenomist, and @m0xt_ estimates about $50M of tokens a month could unlock from January against about $3M a month of buybacks Lighter's Founder and CEO @vnovakovski addressed these concerns in the Q3 gigachad investor call as well, but the concerns remain for the time being. Supply of LIT and demand for all of its products are going to battle it out on the charts for a while, perhaps, but ultimately, this market is huge, and Lighter is extremely well positioned. They have an amazing team, bold strategy, and proven results. I think it's pretty $LIT CoinGecko lists Lighter's Robinhood Chain instance alone at about $421M of open interest. I am also openly interested. Disclosure: I hold $LIT in my Milk Road PRO portfolio. The Ethereum Foundation is already planning the next upgrade by publishing a unified ranking of 62 Hegotá candidate EIPs from ~60 protocol researchers/engineers, with 2 must ship. Bottom line: it hardens Ethereum’s neutrality as the most public blockchain infrastructure.

I also ranked bitcoin:native ahead of stocks, bonds, and real estate, but wtvr its fine nbd
JPMorgan just ranked $BTC ahead of stocks, bonds, real estate and gold in the return forecasts advisers and pension consultants use to build portfolios. This is the report's 31st edition, and the first with bitcoin in it. Its 2027 Long-Term Capital Market Assumptions gives $BTC a 10% annual return over the next 10 to 15 years. U.S. REITs come in at 8.2%, small caps at 7.7%, large caps at 7.5%, a classic 60/40 portfolio at 7.0% and gold at 5.5%. The same report expects bitcoin to swing about 55% a year, roughly 3x stocks. JPMorgan also keeps it out of its main portfolio models because its correlations with other assets keep shifting. No pension fund is buying bitcoin tomorrow because of this report. But an adviser can't size an allocation to an asset with no return assumption. Bitcoin now has one with JPMorgan's name on it, and that kind of number tends to reach the planning spreadsheet years before the money arrives. Would you take 55% swings for 10% a year? FT @jpmorgan

Another @milkroaddaily banger has hit the timeline 🔥
🎇 @sparkfinance Co-Founder and CEO @hexonaut says the banking system runs on friction, and DeFi is about to break it. “People just sit their money in a checking account that pays zero. They’re taking on the risk of bank runs, but they’re not being paid anything for it. They’re being taken advantage of by the banking system. It’s like a tax on people who are not as nimble with their money. I truly believe we’re going to move away from this world that’s predicated on frictions." 🎧 Listen to his latest @milkroaddaily interview with @BitcoinJesusETH here: tinyurl.com/4eky278c

I love how @RasterlyRock and @Matt_Hougan are two of the smartest and most articulate people in one of the most important industries in the world, and yet a large part of their job at @Bitwise is just letting investment professionals use them like live-action Google search. Like, imagine you get time to personally talk to Ryan Rasmussen about crypto and your top question is "Is there a Solana ETF?" WILD If you're reading this, you're so early you wouldn't believe me if I told you
I met with 100+ financial advisors over the last 2 days. These are the questions they asked: 1) Will quantum computing kill crypto? 2) How do you value bitcoin? 3) Am I already using stablecoins? 4) Is bitcoin a currency? 5) Are there Solana and XRP ETFs?

Four years ago we reimagined onchain exchange, setting out to rebuild it from first principles. Tonight, we launched the full realization of that vision. The world’s first predictive liquidity layer, designed to power the economy, onchain. Aero is (finally) here.

Three of the biggest names in finance just made BIG moves toward $ETH - @CharlesSchwab opened $BTC and $ETH trading to eligible clients - @DeutscheBank is about to custody $BTC and $ETH - @jpmorgan Coin is live on Ethereum mainnet Ethereum's strategy of going after institutional capital has paid off. All of these are small wins in an ongoing effort that is still only just beginning. Ethereum spent years courting institutional capital while incumbents kept their distance and fought it. Now they're beginning to come to Ethereum. Understand what this means. Charles Schwab has 40.3M brokerage accounts and $13.33T in client assets, and every eligible U.S. retail client can now buy $BTC and $ETH right next to their stocks Deutsche Bank says its custody service for institutional clients launches in Germany this year (reportedly within weeks). Initial support: $BTC, $ETH, USDC, EURC and EURAU Then JPMorgan. JPM Coin is a dollar deposit token, one token for one dollar held at the bank. It's been running on Base, Coinbase's Ethereum L2, since last November. On Monday, it went live on Ethereum mainnet Kinexys, JPMorgan's internal blockchain unit, pointed to Ethereum's "established depth of onchain liquidity and tokenized assets" For context, JPMorgan moves about $12T in payments a day, per Bloomberg. Kinexys averages about $7B a day. That's a lot of capital and a lot of volume coming to Ethereum and to $ETH. I said on @MilkRoadDaily this week that the market is going blind to these wins. All of these announcements came out, and nobody really noticed. But regardless of anyone paying attention or not, all of global finance is quietly choosing to come to Ethereum. When @fundstrat Tom Lee came on @MilkRoadDaily, he told me a financial institution adopts something when "it's a 10x improvement over what they do today" Three of the biggest financial institutions in the world just voted with their feet $BTC and $ETH benefit first. I think $ETH benefits the most. Here's why. Institutional capital moves onchain. Then the products follow: - JPMorgan has already launched two tokenized money market funds on Ethereum - Deutsche Bank plans tokenized deposits and digital bond issuance for clients - @BlackRock has launched multiple new onchain products in the last couple of months When a bank builds on Ethereum, it's leaning on Ethereum's security, and that security runs on ETH. Every JPM Coin transfer on mainnet pays gas in ETH and is secured by validators staking ETH At TOKEN2049 this month, Tom Lee said $ETH could top $5,000 by year-end. That's about 2x from $2,435 I don't know if that will happen by the end of 2026, but if Ethereum becomes the root of global finance, then even Tom is too low Nobody is bullish enough Believe in somETHing WARTIME ETHEREUM Full disclosure: $ETH and $BTC are positions in my Milk Road PRO portfolio. Last 30 days: + 90% of onchain options market + 5% of Deribit’s volumes + Just did $1.07B notional traded in 1 week + Team's fully aligned around ethereum:0xb1d1eae60eea9525032a6dcb4c1ce336a1de71be, no equity + V3 went live with zero issue, now zkVM on Ethereum One of my highest conviction bets in my portfolio, still adding at these prices.
In "Breaking the Wall," @citrini gave DERIVE $DRV a 10% weight, tied for the biggest in its 15-token crypto portfolio The bull case is mass adoption of on-chain options to hedge tokenized stocks and commodities Derive had 74.9% of onchain options volume as of Sept 25, and its V3 upgrade went live Oct 6th. V3 lists BTC, ETH, HYPE and other alts, plus only one real-world asset group: gold, via XAUT. The biggest room for growth is in the RWA space IMO. The volume is real. Options volume hit $14.22B this year by Sept 25, about 2.6x all of 2025, with a record $3.43B in September The token has been on a huge run lately. $DRV ran to an all-time high of $0.569 on Oct 9th from $0.137 on Sept 16th. Most of that move happened before Citrini published Fees per trade are shrinking, though. Derive earned 1.19 bps of volume in September, its lowest of the year So revenue went the other way. Q3 came in at $1.69M vs $1.88M in Q2, despite record volume Value capture got stronger on Oct 14th. Holders voted 47.69M to 0 to send 50% of net fees to DRV buybacks, up from 35%, with the other half going to the insurance fund Buybacks are SO hot right now. When Nick Forster came on @MilkRoadDaily in August, he told me the core contributors never raised money into an equity entity, so the token is the one instrument in the Derive ecosystem That is so powerful to hear because it makes the investment thesis very clear and simple. Everyone is aligned on the token. No nonsense. I love this More than 28M DRV has been bought back so far For context, about $6.6M of annualized revenue against a $429M market cap is roughly 65x. Which is rich. But it reflects how strongly so many believe in the potential of an onchain options product Supply: 1.0B of 1.5B DRV circulates per CoinGecko, and 230M contributor tokens vest over 4 years now that their $150M market cap gate is met The prize is big if this works out. Onchain options open interest is about $2B vs about $40B globally, and Forster puts Deribit at 70-75% of crypto options So, the market is huge, but competition is coming. @Lighter_xyz's Trevor King @trevor_flipper told me on @MilkRoadDaily that Lighter plans to have a full options suite by the end of the year Hyperliquid and many other big players will also be coming after Derive's market, but Nick and his team have been locked in exclusively on onchain options for many years now, and they have a really high-quality product. I don't think any of this hits primetime until 2027 at the earliest. Capital is still getting used to things like Perps and Prediction Markets. I don't think they're going to be ready for onchain options for a little bit yet. But this is coming. And soon. And with size. Once $DRV starts moving into equities options and not just crypto and gold, the onchain options markets are going to rip. At that point, Citrini's 10% allocation to $DRV could start to look like a brilliant move. I was early to $UNI (+54.8%), $AERO (+93.7%), and $SOL (+39.1%) in my Milk Road PRO portfolio Try Milk Road PRO for $1 for 7 days, link in bio: @BitcoinJesusETH
