Bitkiwi and Bitcoin Policy NZ welcome Hon Nicole McKee (ACT), who will speak at Bitkiwi XVII at 2pm this Saturday at Chou Chou.
Ahead of the election, we wrote to every party in Parliament, along with TOP, inviting them to share their position on #Bitcoin with the community.
ACT stepped up to the plate.
ACT’s digital asset policy, “Unlocking New Zealand’s Digital Economy”, includes a proposed 12-month bright-line test for Bitcoin and a de minimis tax exemption for low-value purchases made with Bitcoin, which @bitcoinpolicynz has advocated for:

Asking politicians in NZ about #Bitcoin!
I asked @toddmstephenson where @actparty stands on Bitcoin.
Last year @TheBitcoinBasin and Bitcoin Policy NZ took Bitcoin to Parliament. Now Act is the first party with a dedicated policy, "Unlocking New Zealand's Digital Economy":
🟠 No tax on Bitcoin held longer than 12 months
🟠 Tax relief for small everyday Bitcoin payments
That rewards long term saving and makes spending sats here in NZ actually practical.
Election day is 7 November. Ask your candidates where they stand.

JUST IN: Fidelity Digital Assets reports that Bitcoin is a compelling investment "in an era of currency debasement and inflation" 👀
"Bitcoin’s supply and demand dynamics make it a unique and potentially compelling option alongside the issuance of perpetual preferred stock." 🚀
