Here’s a closer look at the Next-Gen @Tesla Roadster’s Thrust and Fan Suction system. Both of these systems will be on the production version of the Roadster. It isn’t a concept. • The thruster system produces >80 kN of thrust (roughly a single fighter-jet engine without afterburner). • The Thrust configuration will do 0-60 in less than 0.9 seconds (Tesla did 0-60 in 0.81s live) • The suction system is able to produce over 2 G of downforce at a standstill. • 4 independent drop-down skirts seal the underbody. • Each fan is spun past 15,000 rpm, each fan targeting about 20 kW (roughly 80 kW total for all four). This is what happens when a rocket company joins the automotive world.
