STORYTIME! My husband and I don’t intentionally participate in Halloween. We live out in the country and don’t often get trick or treaters anyway. Every once in a while, some years, we might get one little group of kids and we’ll usually have a single bag of candy ready for that. This year, we didn’t even get a bag of candy. It was raining and yucky outside. We assumed nobody would come out in this. So we got on our jammies and settled in to watch a movie together. We had even forgotten it was Halloween when we saw headlights in our driveway and a knock on the door. Three teenagers stood smiling at our front door. One was dressed like a banana (lol), and the other two looked like Bible characters. I ran to the kitchen and pulled out the only sweetish thing we had available… individually wrapped Motts Banana Streusel Bars. I laughed and told them, “Sorry! Didn’t think we’d get any trick or treaters tonight! We don’t have anything but these banana bars.” As I dropped one into each of their bags, I pointed at the guy dressed as a banana and said, “This should be perfect though since you are actually a banana!” Awkward laughter at my bad old lady joke haha! Then one of the girls said, “Here we have a gift for you!” And the put little bags into my and my husband’s hands. “Ah! Reverse trick-or-treating! I love it!” Another bad old lady joke and more polite laughter. We wished them a good night and they were on their way into the rainy evening. Craig and I inspected the little meshbags they had given us. Each bag had a little Jesus figure, a Christian sticker, a rubber bracelet with a Scripture, and a little personal note with an encouraging message. Craig and I were so touched that these young people thought of such a creative way to witness their faith to the houses they visited this Halloween night. I’ve seen lots of negative posts from Christians about Halloween this year. And yes, there are many demonic connections and ideas related to Halloween that we should avoid as Christians (Eph. 5:11). But I agree with Josh Howerton that this is a “disputable matter.” (youtube.com/shorts/QWse5DDfX…) I don’t think a Christian should dress up like witches or other evil costumes. But I see nothing wrong if a Christian family wants to dress up in fun costumes and get candy from their neighbors. Handing out candy along with Christian items to trick-or-treaters who come to your house is an incredible opportunity to witness to your neighbors! I believe “trunk-or-treat” events in church parking lots is a fun alternative. And I think Christian kids handing out Jesus trinkets and Scripture bracelets to houses they visit is awesome! Disputable matters are… disputable. I respect the individual convictions of my Christian brothers and sisters and we should be able to discuss them publicly without shaming or guilt-tripping people with different opinions. Jesus’ passion was for us to be ONE. We can only achieve unity in the body of Christ when we are willing to allow and respect each other to live in the freedom Christ gives us. MUCH LOVE, YA’LL!!!!

This is one of the things I pray for daily. God, let your power be manifest through me! God, let your power be manifest through the body of Christ, Your church!!! AMEN!!

Jenkins is doing something called SYMBOLISM here... he is using something called ARTISTIC LICENSE to convey a deeper level of meaning... kinda' how Jesus told PARABLES to teach. To all the "disappointed" Christians out there saying that angels don't look like Native Americans... did you miss that there is also an asian warrior as well as a South American warrior? Jenkins is telling us a story here that transcends time. God's angels have been working alongside humans from the very beginning. And btw... angels can look however God wants them to. I can't wait to see this!

Here's how AI works -->> it is made up of everything that WE put into it. Jesus' command for us to occupy this earth until He returns includes AI. If we run from it, the devil will fill the vacuum with lies and wickedness (just as he has done in government, and media, and education, and medicine, and everywhere else when the body of Christ abandoned them). If we want AI to express the truth and glory of God, then WE need to be conduits of God into it. God is weary of our fear. WE need to be shining the light of Jesus into AI and everywhere else.

Honestly I immediately thought it was staged but even if it was… bravo on an extremely well acted video. Great story. Fantastic marketing. It still is a powerful message that hits the heart of so many of us. If it was staged, I kinda respect it even more!
