I was pleased to join Minister @Sflecce for the announcement of the proposed Northern Shield Energy Corridor today. This ambitious project would connect Alberta's oil sands to Sarnia-Lambton, reinforcing our community's position as one of Canada's most important energy hubs.

Notable Losers in Ontario municipal elections. 1) Carolyn Parrish Former Liberal MP and Mayor of Mississaugua 2) Bonnie Crombie Former Liberal MP, Leader of Ont. Liberals and Mayor of Mississaugua 3) Andrea Horvath Former Ont. MPP Leader of NDP and Mayor of Hamilton. 4) Drew Dilkens Windsor Mayor for 12 years. Along with NDP loss in BC, the results are clear. The electorate want a change in the leadership at the top. Voters are waking up to the fact that good alternative folks are running for leadership positions. Canada's federal change will come sooner than later.

The driver of this car was travelling at 184km/h on #Highway401 in #MiddlesexOPP area on October 23rd, 2026. As a result a member of the #OPP West Region - Traffic Incident Management Enforcement (TIME) team stopped and charged a 35-year-old of London with Stunt driving. Needless to say, Slow Down! @CountyMiddlesex ^jh Le conducteur de cette auto roulait à 184 km/h sur l’#autoroute401, dans la zone de compétence de la #MiddlesexOPP, le 23 octobre 2026. Great to visit @Bruce_Power! Thanks to our government’s work, Ontario is doubling medical isotope production by 2030 and advancing Bruce C Project to power 4.8M homes. Let’s cut red tape, remove barriers to innovation, and unlock Ontario’s full potential! @opg @LisaThompsonPC

🇨🇦 LEST WE FORGET 🇨🇦 OCTOBER 27, 1941 — CANADIAN SOLDIERS DEPART FOR HONG KONG 85 YEARS AGO TODAY On this day in 1941, approximately 1,975 Canadian military personnel departed Vancouver, bound for Hong Kong and a mission from which hundreds would never return. Known as C Force, the contingent included the Royal Rifles of Canada, the Winnipeg Grenadiers, and supporting personnel under Brigadier John K. Lawson. They sailed aboard the troopship Awatea and the armed merchant cruiser HMCS Prince Robert, arriving in Hong Kong on November 16. At the time, the Canadians were expected to reinforce the British garrison. Many had limited training and little combat experience. Just three weeks after their arrival, everything changed. On December 8, Japanese forces attacked Hong Kong. For 18 desperate days, Canadian and Allied soldiers fought against overwhelming odds. On Christmas Day, 1941, Hong Kong surrendered. Approximately 290 Canadians were killed in the fighting. The survivors faced more than three and a half years of brutal captivity, during which another 267 Canadians died. More than 550 Canadians who sailed to Hong Kong would never return home. 🐾 And there’s a remarkable story behind today’s photograph. Standing among the Royal Rifles is Sergeant Gander, their beloved Newfoundland dog mascot. Originally named Pal, Gander accompanied the soldiers overseas and became a hero during the battle. He repeatedly helped protect Canadian troops and ultimately lost his life carrying away an enemy grenade that threatened wounded soldiers. In 2000, Gander was posthumously awarded the Dickin Medal for animal bravery. This photograph captures Canadian soldiers and their faithful companion in Vancouver around October 27, 1941. They were preparing to cross the Pacific, unaware of the terrible ordeal awaiting them. Today, we remember their courage, their suffering, and the sacrifices of those who never came home. We will remember them. 🇨🇦 Lest We Forget. 🥀 📸 Department of National Defence / Library and Archives Canada, PA-116791. #LestWeForget #BattleOfHongKong #WW2

Back at Queen’s Park for the Fall 2026 Legislative Session! I’m excited to return to the Legislative Assembly of Ontario and begin this new chapter as Chief Government Whip. I’m grateful to be working with Deputy Whips MPP Natalie Pierre and MPP Steve Pinsonneault as we support the work of our government and advance the priorities that matter to Ontarians. As we begin this new session, I look forward to continuing to serve the people of Oakville North–Burlington, strengthening our communities, protecting Ontario’s economy, and delivering results for families across the province. @NataliePierre @PinsonneaultLKM @FordNation

February 11, 1937, in the Ozark Mountains, Arkansas. The Harris family had lived in this cave since 1935. The bank took their farm. The cave was dry, 58 degrees year-round, and free. William Harris, 36, built the rock fireplace and shelves. His wife Martha, 33, cooked on it. Their children were John, 10; Mary, 8; Clara, 6; Paul, 12; and baby Ruth asleep on the quilt. The lantern was kerosene. The shelves held beans, flour, and lard. The quilt on the wall was from Martha’s mother. The wood was cut by the boys. William worked on the WPA road crew for $21 a month. Martha took in laundry. They lived here until 1939 when William got a job at the dam. Paul died in Korea in 1951. John kept this photo. He said, “We were poor. But we were warm. And we were together.” The cave is on private land now. The fireplace is still there.

The Untouchable Pride Gathered under the sparse shade of an Oklahoma tree, this family stands before their tent home with a dignity that no economic disaster could ever touch. They are the faces of a larger trend—rural families forced into unconventional living to endure the most challenging years of American history. They chose the tent to save on rent, and they chose the goats to save their lives. They represent the hundreds of thousands of Oklahomans who navigated a world of uncertainty with nothing but their hands and their perseverance. This is a documentary of hope. They don't look like victims; they look like survivors. Their ingenuity in maintaining a dairy alongside a temporary shelter allowed them to navigate circumstances that would have broken others. They found a way to maintain stability when the ground beneath them was literally shifting. This is a testament to the strong sense of community and self-reliance that helped the people of the Dust Bowl endure when the world seemed to have forgotten them.

So sad! Susan Saint James has died as age 80. Just posted her 80th birthday celebration in August. The "MacMillan & Wife" and "Kate & Allie" star was a popular fixture of the 1970s and '80s. R.I.P., pretty lady.

🚨WATCH: I asked the Liberal Energy Minister whether his government would repeal their Liberal tanker ban to get Canadian oil to overseas markets. His response? I should “focus a little closer to home.” Does Minister Hodgson apply that same logic to his own responsibilities? Should he only concern himself with issues affecting the Toronto area? He is Canada’s Energy Minister, not just the Member of Parliament for Markham—Thornhill. Canadian energy workers and opportunities matter from coast to coast. As an MP from Newfoundland and Labrador, I will continue standing up for energy workers across the country.

After my husband passed away, I called my three children one by one and told them I’d lost everything and needed a place to live. My oldest said he didn’t have room in his five-bedroom house. My daughter asked if I’d “looked into charity housing.” My youngest, who fixes cars and lives in a two-bedroom apartment, said, “Come tonight, Mom. You’ll take our bed.” None of them knew their father had left me $3.8 million. Walt sold his entire transport business two years before he ever got sick. We purposely never told the kids.

The past three years of my life have been focused on exposing and opposing the antisemitism that is seemingly everywhere. The candidates I support, and the people I am closest to, feel as I do.
