Barry Sanders, Walter Payton and Bo Jackson are some of the greatest talents the NFL has ever seen. But with how the NFL is treating the running back position now, the future greats at the position growing up right now will choose to change positions rather than be exploited by NFL decision makers. It is true that the game has evolved and production from the running back position can be found in many different ways, but RBs are still CRUCIAL to winning and special ones still make it A LOT easier. The backs that have proven they are SPECIAL have earned the guaranteed money they are seeking and NFL decision makers need to stop hosing them in negotiations just because they can.
