Not my story - it was told to me - but so funny.
A second hand bookshop customer asks for discount on a book as it has a couple of tears. The owner explains condition is taken into account when pricing. The customer says "well, not these tears, because my son just did them!".
Just to say, we remember our visit to @MarshsLibrary very fondly - such a warm and friendly welcome as well as the #beautifulbooks. We're planning a return in the autumn but in the meantime really enjoy your posts.

Constantly struck by the beauty of her illustrations - and diversity of Beatrix Potter's talent.

I can't resist reposting this illustration. Such a charming picture and the sentiment - that tea makes everything better - is so in keeping with my way of life.
