In the end, Brazil really did teach the United States a lesson. They jailed the fascist, and then they defeated his political heir.

I think Nathan Fielder did a really good job with You Can See Everything. Especially in showing how unwilling Amanda Seyfried was to acknowledge her own role in potentially harming another person. He had everyone looking at one another and questioning everyone else’s intentions, while seemingly being completely unwilling to examine their own behavior. I thought Amanda’s resistance to doing that was especially revealing
I also obviously think Billy is terrible. I think he’s cruel and exploitative. I’ve seen Elizabeth’s tweets for years and thought they were her. Finding out they’re his was jarring and sad.
But as much as I dislike Billy, I think he made a very good point. Why would he care what Amanda thinks? She’s an actress who has profited from portraying his wife as a bizarre and dishonest and manipulative freak to an audience that is largely voyeuristic, incredibly binary in their moral thinking, and seemingly unable to separate fiction from reality
I don’t think that Amanda needed to defend Elizabeth or excuse anything she’s done but I do think it’s bizarre how unwilling she seemed to consider that she might have contributed to another person’s suffering
You can tell people are being willfully obtuse about this because they don't even mention the Saddam Hussein part. Does anyone think the majority of Americans would like *Saddam's* Cheesecake Factory?

Spent the last 2 weeks in Canada, and it's immediately clear why America will keep its competitive advantage forever.
Don't get me wrong, I love Canada! It's beautiful out here, and the people themselves are also lovely.
But! There is a serious lack of ambition, and an enormous amount of averseness to risk in a way that is not really fixable imo

Fuck yeah bro, Florida. Widespread political corruption, Conservative Latinos, Boomer overpopulation, Absurd inclement weather, Mad Max Fury Road commutes to work, Cops using your dead relatives identity like a skin suit, it's Florida dawg it's lit
A Florida man was found dead in his home during a welfare check in July 2022. Weeks later, one of the officers who discovered his body moved into the home and spent years impersonating him, according to investigators. nbcnews.com/news/us-news/off…
Them doing the jingle with vibrato has been burned into my memory since this aired. Rest in peace, Tom Skerritt.
Prefacing that profoundly bigoted statement with "I think Senator Kennedy said it best" is wild. This wasn't some off-the-cuff remark; Thielman has thought about this and genuinely believes these words best describe El-Sayed. Disgusting.
CNN's ‘Inside Politics’ panel on Wednesday blew up when former NRSC director Jason Theilman echoed Louisiana GOP Senator John Kennedy, saying that when El-Sayed “goes to bed at night, it looks like he’s sleeping in Bin Laden’s jersey,” which was followed by brief outrage from Dana Bash and former DSCC director Guy Cecil.
At the end of the interview, Bash thanked Cecil for freaking out and telling the Republican, “you’ll apologize later,” and said, “I think it was important what you said.”
