Dus...
Road tax (annual ownership/circulation tax) varies heavily by car weight, CO2, engine size, fuel type and region—no fixed EU ranking exists. Typical mid-size petrol car approx. (highest to lowest): Netherlands (often €700-2000+) Denmark (efficiency-based, can exceed €1000) Belgium (€400-800 by region) Ireland/Finland/Austria (high CO2-linked) Germany (€100-400) Luxembourg (~€150) Spain (~€50-150) France & Czechia: €0 for private cars Poland: €0 for passenger cars Matches the NL vs DE gap in the quoted post. Exact amount needs your car’s details.

All 18 crew members were rescued.

The Russians are worse than fucking Somali pirates. The Africans at least dare to do it themselves in person. And aren't blowing up the ships with drones...

In the Netherlands "wealth tax" box 3 starts from €60k and it's over 2%. Next year the tax rate goes up 35% and the exemption gors down to €30k. An average Dutch home costs over 500k. So owning 6% of an average home in assets makes you "wealthy"... Insanity

Did they just win the elections?
JUST IN: Democrats propose letting AI companies go bankrupt rather than bailing them out if AI bubble bursts

Nope. Probably die made up stats, but definitely not a real one...
Unpopular opinion: We will never see 2% inflation in my lifetime.

I just realized that my car would be 15 times cheaper on road tax when I move to Germany next year than here in the Netherlands. Fifteen times. 135 euro per year in Germany vs 2016 euro per year in the Netherlands. WTF?!

BREAKING: House Democrats have preemptively introduced a resolution to stop the federal government from bailing out AI companies in the event of the industry collapsing. The bill says these companies should be subjected to the ordinary bankruptcy process.

Before you give the government control of the entire economy, picture your least favorite politician winning the next election. Congratulations, you’ve discovered an argument for capitalism.

This is a winning message. Very strategic. As I said yesterday. You don’t want to be in AI stocks if the Dems win the House and the Senate.

#nieuwsvandedag

European hiring rules are genuinely insane. For example - if you own a company in the Netherlands and one of your employees gets sick, you are required to pay at least 70% of their wages for up to 2 years. If they can't go back to work after 2 years and you haven't done enough for their reintegration, you pay their wages for 1 more year. And you can't fire them until after that extra year!
