"Every player should not be focused on who they are playing against, relative to their motivation, but every player should want to be the best player that they can be. That's how you get good - that's how you develop the right habits - that's how you're consistent." #RollTide

Watch what happens as his front foot lands. The front side braces instead of drifting forward, creating a stable base to turn from. That brace lets the barrel accelerate and release into contact. Elite hitters get to launch, stabilize, then turn efficiently into the ball.

These three bunts(Safety/Non directional sac/Directional sac bunt) all occurred in the 7th inning of yesterday’s game between the Reds & Padres.

The better the pitching, the more important a hitter’s approach becomes. For advanced hitters, success is often determined long before stepping into the batter’s box. Here are a few keys that can help you “cheat the test” by gathering information, identifying tendencies, and developing a plan of attack against the current pitcher. The best hitters don’t just react...they prepare, observe, and make adjustments throughout the game. @CoachMongero

Proper rotation vs. pulling out of the zone. #hitting #softball #rotation

As a baseball scout, there are two concerning hitting characteristics with HS & College hitters that stand out more today than ever before. 1) No Plan At The Plate Successful hitters don’t just hope to get a hit—they know what pitch they’re hunting, they exercise zone awareness, they know what part of the field they’re trying to use, they know how to work counts, and how they’re going to attack pitch to pitch. They have a plan, they don’t just “wing it.” If you fail to plan—then plan to fail. 2) Lack Of Competing In The Box Every pitch is a battle. Fighting off tough pitches. Refusing to get beat. Making the pitcher earn every out. Competing in the box isn’t about the “result”—a hitter can go 0-4, but have four quality at bats. Competing in the box is about your approach, focus, and effort every single pitch. Yes, swing operation and talent matters, however a “plan” and a “competitive” mindset in the box separate good hitters from the rest. Never forget . . Success is never owned. It is only rented, and the rent is due everyday!
