Going #carfree is challenging, albeit rewarding, especially in a smaller city like #Pittsburgh. This does a great job of covering the challenges & considerations when making this jump. How to go car-free — or car-light — in Middle America vox.com/future-perfect/23578… via @voxdotcom

Gov. Josh Shapiro called out outgoing Senate Majority Leader Joe Pittman for blowing up a transit funding deal during the 2025 budget, and went after Pittman's floor speech from that time.

Yes, and this is (likely) why airlines are doing this. But not all single passengers are flying on the company’s dime. They’re also solo leisure travelers, couples flying separately, friends going on group trips, family members flying to attend an emergency, and more. This is a blunt instrument.
Traveling solo is a good indication of business travel, and airlines have always tried to find ways to charge business travelers more.

With all the excitement with PRT's Bus Line Refresh, we missed Mid Mon Valley Transit's proposed new system at midmonmoves.com! They seem to be using the same Remix software that PRT is using as well. I do have concerns with their proposals, primarily the frequencies – at Pittsburgh, PA

I didn't realize Youngstown and Akron had Amtrak service until so recently. I figured they would be difficult to serve again, though it does appear that this train didn't stop at Cleveland which is quite unfortunate – at Pittsburgh, PA
One of the most recent Amtrak lines to be defunded and shut down, the Three Rivers used to carry people from NYC to Chicago via Philadelphia, Pittsburgh and Akron until 2005. Nappanee, Fostoria, Akron and Youngstown no longer have train service.
