PLAYERS: No need to tell anyone what you are or aren't going to do. Workouts, training sessions, practices, and the off-season tell your coaches and teammates how committed you are.

Phil Jackson said, "As much as we pump iron and we run to build our strength up, we need to build our mental strength up...so we can focus...so we can be in concert with one another."
Mental toughness isn't a talent, it's a skill that you develop.
The 4 Principles of Mental Toughness:
1. Confidence: Belief in your abilities is crucial. Confident people trust their skills and feel prepared to face challenges head-on. They maintain a positive attitude even in the face of setbacks and believe in their capacity to succeed.
2. Control: This involves maintaining emotional control and staying composed under pressure. It also refers to your ability to control your life and your environment. People with mental toughness can manage their emotions, avoid negative cycles, and stay focused on their goals.
3. Commitment: This principle is about being dedicated and having a strong work ethic. It's the principle of grit, resilience, and determination. It means setting goals and consistently working towards them despite obstacles. Commitment in mental toughness means not giving up when faced with difficulties and consistently striving to improve.
4. Challenge: Individuals with mental toughness perceive challenges as opportunities rather than threats. They are adaptable, embrace change, and see difficult situations as chances to learn and grow. This mindset helps them to overcome fear of failure and view setbacks as part of the learning process.
"Wisdom is always an overmatch for strength." - Phil Jackson
