Lavrov is sitting in Atlanta right now at the G20 foreign ministers’ meeting.
Putin has already been invited to the leaders’ summit in Miami in December.
Ukraine was not even invited.
While Russia was killing people at a railway station in Dnipro yesterday and two 15-year-old girls in the center of Chernihiv — Washington is rolling out the red carpet for its foreign minister.
This is not diplomacy.
This is the legitimization of bandits.
This is recognizing the aggressor as an equal player, and the victim as an inconvenient detail.
You do not take photos with terrorists or sit at the same table with them.

He should not be there, and the reason for the inordinate length of his journey speaks volumes but the USA bends the knee for Russia and invites him which provides yet another platform that allows Russia to spread propaganda and lies, particularly Lavrov who only quite recently insisted that Russia does not target civilians in their continuing war with Ukraine.

Refusing a group photo is, of course, quite the powerful gesture. Lavrov must have cried bitterly while taking a bathroom selfie.
Can someone explain to me why the other participants didn’t announce a boycott of the meeting once they found out Trump was inviting the Russians? Let him meet with them by himself.
And what is even the point of meeting with people who don’t say a single word of truth?
