And just like that, 12 years, 2 medals, a whole bunch of memories and wonderful friends later; I’m done. Policing you were my childhood dream. I’m so proud to have been one of you and do my small bit. You’ll always be part of me, but time to live and move on. #ThinBlueLine 🚨

You may remember earlier this year PC Beer arrested a delightful individual who hit her over the head with a bottle and tried to throw her off a balcony…👀 Whilst he’s been locked away, PC Beer won a @DCPolfed bravery award, and greatly deserved it is too! 👏 #ThinBlueLine 🚨

Quite a few years ago now I did my initial Taser course. I was nervous and whilst it was a very good course, I failed it during the classification phase because I was rushing and I zapped my knuckle. The instructor saw it and quite rightly it was a fail there and then. I felt embarrassed and rather stupid to be honest. The great thing about policing, is that everybody’s new once. It’s always someone’s first time at doing something and it is the character of your colleagues that helps you. My colleagues and I had a jolly good laugh that I’d managed to electrocute myself, but then we discussed how I’d done it. So until my next course was booked they’d randomly ask me what I needed to do right, so it never happened again. I went back a few weeks later, loved the course even more and passed without any issues. I messed up. I didn’t mean to, but my friends and colleagues supported me and I got better. None of us are perfect. None of us, we learn and hopefully, we grow. To have a go at a Police Officer posing for a picture to talk about representation in policing, is honestly pathetic. And I might add, the Sergeant was one of my first line managers and a more decent one, you won’t find anywhere. The Officer also posted about the photo a few years ago, acknowledging the trigger finger placement and I note no one has decided to dig that up…👀 #ThinBlueLine 🚨

“Hi! Not sure if you saw the Garda ERU in the news recently, but be very cool to see them made in bricks if possible? Thanks.” I did indeed. 😉 A big shout out to you all, a tough and demanding job, very grateful for the hard work you do day in, day out. 🫡 #ThinBlueLine 🇮🇪 🚨

Sadly some more very tragic news I’ve been asked to share today, that PC Ben Dean 1071 of @Humberbeat died on the fourth of October. 😔 My thoughts are with PC Ben Dean’s friends, family, loved ones and of course his colleagues at this incredibly say time. 🫡 #ThinBlueLine 🇬🇧🚨

“Control, space for one, not calm not compliant.” “Offence, warrant number, and any medical.” “Loudcasting, Bus Services Act 2025, p999101, no known medical.” “Loudcasting?” “Loudcasting.” “Bus Services Act?” “Yeah you know the ‘playing music loudly on a bus’ offence they said would be dealt with by transport staff, but the suspect wouldn’t give their details for the fine and then they tried to escape and assaulted the staff so we were called, over.” “Received, over, no cell space in our force area going further afield, I’ll arrange transport.” This sounds like parody, but it’s about to happen…🫡 #ThinBlueLine 🚨

Truly horrendous news from Nottingham today that a Police Officer was shot in the line of duty. 😔 My thoughts are with our injured colleague, wishing them a very speedy recovery. Thinking too of their friends, family and loved ones and of course colleagues. #ThinBlueLine 🚨

“Hello BC, my lad is an LSO and just passed his PoLSA course! Would love to see something about the great work these lads and ladies do. Thanks, a very proud dad!” No problem at all and I’m very sorry for the delay! Congratulations and thank you to your son. #ThinBlueLine 🚨

“Hey! Absolutely love your work. Would you be able to do a post for a PCSO Rob Window, who leaves Hampshire Constabulary after 17-years as a PCSO in Winchester?! He will be sorely missed by the whole community.” Absolutely! Best of luck for the future Rob! 🫡 #ThinBlueLine 🚨

I know this will fall on deaf ears, but I’m going to say it anyway to the Home Secretary and Prime Minister. Please don’t listen to Lord Hogan-Howe, merging Police Forces is an absolutely terrible idea. Just look at Police Scotland, it’s outrageously broken. #ThinBlueLine 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿🚨

“Hi Mate, rewatching some of The Bill, love how accurate they got most of it! Any chance of building the great Tony Stamp? @GrahamcoleAct did such a good job on the show, and I know he still does lots of charity work! Gotta feature some wheels too!” Agreed. ✅ #ThinBlueLine 🚨

“Hi! My other half has just passed his OFC course and I need a bit of a favour… I asked him for a photo in his uniform to frame and he sent me one looking really grumpy holding his phone, then sent me one of him smiling and told me to ignore the grumpy one…👀 Please can you build the grumpy one because it’ll make him laugh? Thank you!” Love a challenge! 😆 And well done! ✅ #ThinBlueLine 🚨

“Hi BC. Just handed in my warrant card today after 25 years front-line in NI. Few years earlier than I hoped, due to ill health. Can you do a wee Lego bog-standard response officer in PSNI green for me, please. For all the mates I've lost over the years, and for all the boys and girls who are still having to check under their cars every morning. Many of whom have been called away for the latest shenanigans over here. Thanks very much, and all the best.” No thank you and enjoy retirement. 🫡 #ThinBlueLine 🚨

This is baffling. If you have unprecedented demand and truly need more Police Officers, say so. Don’t come up with a non existent solution that only temporarily relieves the pressure on your hard working Cops? You need more Detectives, it’s a fact, so say so? #ThinBlueLine 🚨

Right now the awesome Ross Morgan is completing 700 miles on his bike across Scotland to raise money for the Blue Light Minds Mental Health Charity. He’s just reached Tulliallan, home to the @PSOSCollege! If you’d like to donate, the link is in the comments. #ThinBlueLine 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿🚨

You know the best bit? Neither of these opinions matter. The use of force is up to the individual Officer to justify. Not the internet. The real question goes much higher. If you’re deploying Level Two Public Order Officers, why aren’t they in full kit? If they’re making arrests when outnumbered, they should be in the right dress to be protected from assault in the first place…🤷🏼‍♂️ #ThinBlueLine 🚨
